Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThere is nothing wrong with this place.
Very friendly staff, breakfast is nothing spectacular but still very tasty. You're sleeping in the middle of the desert, in the nature. Nice spot to watch stars at night, it is extremely quiet during the night. Pool was also nice and clean.

United KingdomI stayed over Christmas and the evening menu was a bit limited. Hamburger two nights running. But they were delicious and the owner accommodated my gluten-free diet.
It’s worth making the effort to continue on from Villavieja to get to this little oasis in the Tatacoa desert. You’ll be rewarded with your own little hut, great views, very little light pollution affording you the luxury of seeing the stars and waking up to the sound of bird calls. There’s a small swimming pool for a refreshing dip. Vincente is very friendly. Good WiFi service in the reception area. I’d definitely recommend staying here for a full Tatacoa desert experience. There are some tour companies that will drive out to pick you up from the hotel.

Mr. Vicente prepared delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner :). He prepared traditional dishes and combined with exquisite flavors. The fruity refreshments of sugar cane, pineapple and lemons were outstanding.

BelgiumLoud music playing at night. Quite a long walk to the closest restaurants and activities, but that of course means better stargazing possibilities.
Cute huts, beautiful view, nice pool and hammac area, delicious breakfast and beautiful stars.

SwedenIt is far from some of the sights, and takes 75-90 minutes to and from Neiva, the transport hub.
Very quiet place at the end of the road, next to the desert. A great pool for cooling down after a day exploring the exciting landscape. Friendly and attentive staff ready to serve food and beer.

FranceIf you offer half board you have to offer a different menu everyday as no one wants to eat hamburger every evening Shower is only cold. Maybe not a problem in hot desert but early morning it is not hot enough and I caught a cold
House was cute, the view is just amazing, it is quiet, Staff very friendly. You are in the middle of the desert! The ride is adventurous as the road is not a road! It is off road But amazing experience

United KingdomIt was ruined by one of the guys staring at my girlfriend a lot which made us really uncomfortable. It was very weird. We didn't say anything at the time because we're so remote and there was no other guests as it was low season, but it was intensely awkward. I felt really happy leaving the place because of that.
The cabins were beautifully constructed. Theres a net you can lie on to look at the stars. The breakfast was okay too. We drove there and they locked our car in an enclosure which felt safe, but also worrying because of the negativea

ItalyIf you're not a frogs lover be careful when you open the tap in the bathroom. Sometimes little tiny frogs come out like a waterpark slide. It happened 5 times in 1 night 🤣. Our room was quite dirty, the floor and the beds had some geckos poop on it, maybe they didn't expect people to arrive. The swimming pool was terrific, even after the hard work to clean it up twice a day from the leaves, the water remains so green that is impossible to see the bottom, it looks more like a pond than a relaxing pool. If you are not too fancy and you don't really care about the pool, I recommend this place for the view.
The view of the valley is amazing and the sun sets behind the mountain exactly in front. Few animals walking around, including a cute tortoise. The breakfast is really good. If you are a frogs lover you will love this place. The guy at the reception was quite friendly

United States-For an "ecohotel" it was pretty appalling to see that the only water they sold were 300ml plastic bottles for $4,000 COP each. A total con, both for the wallet and the environment the hotel claims to protect. -The rooms all have gaps between the roof and the walls and the doors/windows don't fit properly so there are a lot of bugs and animals - big spiders, mosquitos, adorable geckos, but worst of all wasps. We found a wasp nest in the closet and there were a couple of them circling around the room. -Beds were stiff and uncomfortable -The location is a 30 minute walk from the observatory, which could be a pro or con depending on how you see it. We would have preferred to be closer to the observatory and some of the restaurants but YMMV. -You have to pay in cash...
-The room we booked had an electricity problem so we were upgraded to the best room. -Food was ok, they were somewhat accommodating towards vegetarians (eggs for every meal) though nothing for vegans (no beans or veggies on hand). -The buildings looked interesting and it was really nice to see that they used solar panels! -The sheets and floors were clean. -Beautiful views from the property

United StatesI was not satisfied with this place at all. The photos are extremely misleading and they way overcharge for what you actually get and let me explain to you why: First of all, they say that breakfast and dinner are included but I would not even give that food to my dog. Secondly, the room is extremely rustic for the price they are charging. The room is almost completely outside as there is space between the roof and the walls for the bugs to come in. There are also windows that do not close are they are completely exposed to the outside. BE prepared to be eaten. WE have over 300 mosquitos bites each on us. They only included one mosquito net for 2 beds. In addition, it is a "family room" but they only let 2 people stay in it even though its meant for 3 people. They tried to charge us 50 extra dollars for an extra person when the booking said it was a family. Family does not mean 2 people, it means 2+. VERY misleading
the only good thing about this place was that the staff was extremely accommodating when we were checking out a day early because the place was so bad. They were very helpful and kind throughout our stay, so this review is not directed at them.
