It was paradise!! A hidden gem. The garden and pool were anazing, with the lovely swingseats. I loved a (free) morning coffee right after wake-up in the garden. We saw a sloth and lots of leguans. The staff is very helpful, the food is delicious!

I wished our room was not the back of the building. Walking to it didn't quite have the charm as the rest of the place. But we got over that quickly. Everything else was super cute.

Loved the grounds and feel of the place. The food and dining room were fantastic. Happy hour was fun. Loved it here.

    Nothing - we liked everything

The studio room was spacious, the bathroom was lovely and it was great to have a kitchen which even had a toaster which was a real bonus. The breakfast had plenty of fresh fruit and there was a different option for each of the days. The staff were very polite and spoke very good English. It was the only hotel we stayed at with mosquito nets which was a bonus. The garden was beautiful with animals to see - the birds loved having some fruit on the bird table and we even saw a sloth. It was nice to be able to play table tennis, table football and have two pools to use.

Great location for the national park, beach and town. The hotel is set in lovely tropical gardens - we enjoyed spotting wildlife in the hotel grounds. Our family suite was a great size and very comfortable. Great breakfast too, highly recommend staying here. We enjoyed the authentic feel of Cahuita.

I would recommend adding a couple more chairs for the pool area.

We loved our stay here! The grounds are very beautiful, with lots of plants and wildlife (we saw frogs, iguanas, lizards, and so many birds!) We really enjoyed the pool too! The location is great - a short walk to downtown Cahuita and other restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was great, and we also ordered some drinks and appetizers on other nights and the food was fantastic - some of the best food we had while in Cahuita. The hotel is right across the street from Playa Negra, which we didn't actually go to since the water was so high/rough while we were there. It is about a 15 minute walk to Cahuita national park though, which has a beautiful beach!

The staff were incredibly accommodating. Our room was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and both pools were lovely. There is lots of wildlife around, birds, iguanas, frogs and lizards. I saw a green basilisk in the hotel courtyard and we saw a sloth just down the street from the hotel!

The rooms had little access to light and gave a dark impression, but this is a minor detail that did not affect the overall positive reception.

Hotel has an an amazing garden with sloth, lizards and tones of different animals with beautiful plants, two swimming pools. in the garden there were many places with hammocks and hanging chairs that gave the opportunity to relax and hide from people. The rooms are comfortable, big with and clean bathrooms. The service was incredibly helpful, nice and discreet.

We had a minor mixup with our breakfast order but it worked out in the end. Checkout time is a bit early, as plenty of other hotels in the area offer checkout at 12 noon.

The connected rooms worked out great as we were a large group. Rooms were clean, and we enjoyed the swimming pool which was also well maintained. Filling breakfast as you get fresh juice, bread with jam/butter and an option to pick from. We were lucky to see a sloth as well during breakfast hours.

Breakfast was served until 8:30 which is a little early for somebody who would need some more rest. Also, the room we had was portly isolated (close to the kitchen and the staff room so we were waken up several times by the noise)

Super nice staff. The rooms and the gardens are nicely decorated. The breakfast is very good and generous. The beach (Playa Negra) is 5 minutes walking distance.

Accommodations were fine. Some of the linens were very worn out (sheets, towels). Otherwise, liked it all. Happy to have individual air conditioner controls in each room. Saw lots of wildlife on the grounds as well, including sloth, howler monkey, frogs.

The property is beautiful, and within walking distance to a beach and the town center. Nice pools. The staff are wonderful. They were easy to deal with and were calm and gave out flashlights when there was a power outage. We appreciated Conrad especially. And the 2 for 1 happy hour drinks!

The room was very clean, fancy shower and netted bed. I think the gentleman working in the dining area was Conrad, and he was amazing. He spread his great, positive attitude throughout the place (and made some mean Mojitas). The food was very good. We had intended to eat in town but always ended up in the little restaurant at the hotel. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The pool area was beautiful, complete with a couple of local sloths.

We did not have any complaints. The property, meals, and experience exceeded our expectations!

The breakfast was a delicious feast of homemade bread and fruit juice with fresh fruit and a choice from a rotating list. The coffee was wonderful and the service excellent! We ate multiple dinners at the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed every dish. From pizza to fresh fish it was all excellent. And the night waiter was so kind to answer questions about the area and Costa Rican culture. We stayed in a suite which had wonderful space for our family of four and a separate bedroom room for the kids. We saw many iguanas, Arrow Frogs, Toucans, and hummingbirds to name a few. We even watched a sloth climb from one tree to another while by the pool one afternoon! The grounds were a beautiful garden full of different plants. It was a 10 minute walk to the National Forest and Playa Negra was an easy walk across the street. We felt safe and appreciated that our rental car was in a gated parking lot and that had filtered water for our drinking in lobby. Hotel El Encanto defines the Pura Vida we were wanting to experience!
