Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaFrom the start nothing was promising. When asked and said at what time I will arrive I expected that someone will be there at the reception at least to leave my stuff in the lobby if the room is not ready. No one was there, no one was answering the bell, as well as the phone that is written at the entrance. The room was not cleaned properly. There were human hairs all ower the beds, towels were ripped, the rug wasn’t vacumed really well and the sink was dirty when we came. Also, no one takes the trash out, and the shower door were broken. The day before our leave I texted them to ask if we can leave the luggage at the lobby through the day, and never got the answer but they were on time to write me a message to contact them “directly” via email if I had any comments or suggestions about the stay. The owner was really rude the last day when we asked about the paper proof that they payed for our taxes for staying in foreign country and shouted in Czech. We never got the receipt.
The location was amazing, 3 minutes walk to metro station and a very nice neighborhood. The young boy at the reception was polite. You don’t have to pay in advance which suited us because three of us came from all the different countries.

GermanyFirst of all, I did not complain during my stay, as I had a busy schedule and I usually don't complain afterwards if I book a reasonably priced room. So I did not provide them with the opportunity to improve things. This might be my error, I just can't bare the hassle. Generally speaking: things can go wrong, we don't have to complain about everything... The place was more run-down than on the fotos and in a way that they just purposefully don't care. Where to start? The bathroom was very old. The mirror-light in the bathroom didn't work, the warm water tap needed considerable turning until water came from it, black hair scattered across sink and shower, and the toilet had cracks in it. The bathroom ventilation was too short to bring out all the steam, so you could see small lines of mold in the bathroom and I suspect it also impacted on the rest of the room. The bed linen were old, so you found old stains (looked like blood) on the cushion, nobody had properly cleaned under the bed (stuff was still lying there) and I nearly stepped in a sharp piece of glas on the floor. The included breakfast consisted predominantly of meat. The only non-meat products were butter, simple cake, eggs, one type of cheese, cut up cucumber/tomatoes and plum jam (complete list). At least a variation of jams or honey would have been nice. Once a guest left a table it was not properly cleaned so you had to eat in the crumps and coffee-stains of other guests before you. And what really made it weird was that the staff just simply did not react to you. You walked past them and smiled and there was no reaction at all. Other rooms might be better, I might have been just very unlucky, or the hotel might cater to other customers needs, but I will certainly not be coming back.
The room was larger than expected. It was also very calm, as I had requested. It is located next to the yellow metro, so you get into town quickly if need to, walking takes about 30 minutes - depending on where you want to go. Returning at night on foot I felt safe. In the stone-hard beds I did sleep astonishingly well. In its rating range it was one of the cheaper options and included breakfast (though, I now know why).

HungaryWhole experience was ruined by the reception woman that checked us in. First of all, she opened the door for us. She was looking at us like she is disgusted from something. When we were about to pay for the accommodation, the receptionist said they do not accept the credit cards which was weird but alright.. I mentioned we needed to go down to get some cash to pay and was agreed it was alright. But seemed as not alright as after 10-15 mins the receptionist started to knock the door and accusing us we do not want to pay. Anyways, we came down to settle the bill. The receptionist was sitting talking on her phone and instead of the conversation she just pointed to a paper where was written the amount to pay and she did not even talk to us as she was all on her phone. We asked for the receipt. The lady said they do not give the receipts. That was the last drop in the ocean. So, the stuff is very rude. The room was quite good for the price we've paid. The only thing is that there is no mosquito net, we had some bugs because of that in the room. We knew there would not be AC and hairdryer but would be nice to have it. And last but not least, breakfast was bad for us. We've been reading the reviews about the breakfast and everyone saying it's so great. So, we were really excited to try it but were so dissapointed about it. The cold cuts did not look bad but did not taste well, eggs were not good. Everything was plated at 7 or 8 am I don't remember much and as we came by 9 o'clock and food was plated earlier, one plate was already full of ants..
Me and my wife were staying in the hotel for 2 nights. The accommodation is very accessible from the train station by the tram. The location is actually great, there is metro nearby (which we did not even use) and trams that are close by as well.

Romania- It was very-very-very cold during nights in my room 23, even if the heat regulator was set on the max. position. - The temperature of water was not enough for taking showers. - Weak Internet Wifi at the 2nd floor. - Old and used furniture, clogged sink, lack of bulbs. - No elevator, the stairs are narrow and not appropriate for carrying luggage. - Not appropriate for people with motric disabilities
- The property is located near metro station B and tram station (ex: 8) - There are lots of groceries, Starbuck, McDonalds. Many opportunities for having Breakfast around. - The host speaks English. - I found a written guide in my room (ex: directions to key points etc.) - The room and bathroom were very clean.

GermanyWe were seriously concerned with the hygienic condition of our rrom and especially of our bedsheets. We received several towels with holes or indefinable marks. There was a disgusting smell coming out of the drain of the shower. The offered breakfast was just a really bad joke. The stairway is extremely dangerous and is not suited for a pension at all. Lastly, there was garbage directly in the entrance area (see picture attached).
The pension is in a nice location of Prague.

Czech RepublicReceptionist was rude. The EUR to CZK rate was not updated to fit the day's rate, so I ended up paying more. When I asked about it, the receptionist told me this was what she had from the boss. I didn't receive any towels, had to ask for them and they were dirty. The bnb is old, shabby and dirty through and through. Noisy as well. Definitely not worth the price at all, would not recommend to anyone.
Location is excellent. Bed was somewhat comfy.

GermanyWell, the hotel "Aaron" since I booked in advance, arrived at 9 pm, and they had an error in the system and simply did not have a free room. I left Ukraine and got to Prague for a few 5 days, dreamed of settling down calmly and without tears for the first time in a week, and we (me and my mother) were kicked out to look for a new home almost at midnight. Subsequently, the management simply canceled the order, as if I canceled the reservation and did not leave. But I have confirmation - I am attaching a check with payment at this hotel. We had a hard time getting to this hotel alone, and now in the middle of the night we took the tram to the other end of town again! There was no such disrespect and humiliation anywhere! These days in Prague there was a huge surge of tourists, so there was only one single hotel at half price. Terrible and sad situation, the hotel management did not help with the search and did not get into our position. I have never seen such a horrible attitude anywhere!

Czech RepublicThe stairs are quite steep and with irregular shape - no problem for healthy adults, but I can image older people or young children having tough time reaching their room.
The accommodation exceeded my expectations. It is rather simple, but you have all things needed, clean sheets, towels and nice smile from receptionist as a bonus. Beds are very comfortable, rooms surprisingly quiet, although you are staying on busy location.

Russia1) Staff. One of the receptionists was very rude and didn't speak English. 2) Payment. Despite what's written on Booking.com, they refused to accept cards for 2 days, and when they did - charged me 4 euros more than the price was. 3) Wifi. On the second floor, it may be considered inexistent. You can connect to the router, but the Internet switches off and back on every few minutes, which makes it impossible to use. 4) Minor things - no soap in the dispenser, only small towels, stains on the carpet, etc.
The location is great - two minutes from the metro, walking distance from the city center, a nice hip quarter with lot's of cafes. The bed was very good, too.

Saudi ArabiaCons: - Very small room. - The receptionist was very rude and yelling at people all the time!! - Missing amenities and facilities. such as iron, soap, fan, heating, hairdryer. All were promised on Booking.com and they weren't in the room. And yes, she yelled at me when I asked for an iron. I had to take an iron and iron all my clothes at once and return it immediately!! - No phone, if you want something, go to the reception. - The receptionist kept mumbling and yelled at me when I asked for soap and didn't give me any the first time. The liquid soap bottle was empty when I arrived, and there were no soap bars. When I asked again the next day, she also yelled at me and made me wait and then she filled the bottle with another bottle that I think was hair shampoo!! - I saw a bag of bread in the same cabinet with the cleaning products and chemicals. I saw similar bread on the breakfast the next morning, from then on, I never had any food in this hotel. (Picture attached) - There was no safe or fridge in the room. - Receptionist doesn't speak English at all, and keeps yelling at you if you don't understand Czech. - Missing essentials. Such as shampoo and tissues. - Towels were either dirty or torn. (Picture attached) - It was cold, and they didn't turn the heating on!! Except for the last day before I checked-out. - There was a huge spot of what seems to be black mold in the room. It is on the same wall in the room behind the shower. (Picture attached) - After about 8 P.M. they would turn the lights off, and you need to use your phone's flashlight to see your way around the halls to get to your room. - One day, they left a pile of linens in the hall, and the hall and the linens were full of bugs, that they even covered the wall!! (Picture attached)
Pros: - Didn't mind an early check-in, I checked-in a few hours early. - Partially Clean, checked with UV light. But there was a huge mold spot in the room. - Free, but very slow WiFi.
