The location is great, right on the Rihne river bank. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, we appreciated it was continental. The wine tasting was a nice experience, wines are very good and at very afordable prices. Staff was very friendly.

The wasps were numerous and very aggressive (not only at this hotel, but throughout the town). They made having meals outside hazardous if not impossible (I got stung by one, no bueno). Specific to this hotel, I would have liked to have used my credit card for the meals too, but alas, this is Germany. Many of the nearby restaurants also did not take credit cards either, so be sure to carry cash. All in, nothing much to complain about.

The location makes the hotel. It's right on the Rhine and close to everything (including boat tours). The train stop is walking distance unless you are traveling with heavy baggage. The hotel itself is what a person might expect of a family-run German hotel. It's quaint and the rooms are clean and comfortable, but a bit dated. The staff was very polite and we felt welcome. The breakfasts were excellent as was the WiFi. And we were able to pay for the room (but not the meals) with a credit card. I would stay here again and would recommend unreservedly.

Room quite hot and would have liked a sheet cos too hot for a duvet. It was over 30° though weather-wise!

So clean everywhere,very comfortable beds, nice bathroom with shower. Staff helpful and friendly. The food and wine very good! I am not very mobile so it was helpful that there was a lift which our room was near and a different stairs to use to access the hotel. The front terrace overlooking the Rhine is beautiful! The boat goes right outside for river trips.

The family running it. My husband got sick and the hotel was really wonderful to us. Sent him special food. Arranged for us to stay longer without changing rooms. Also restaurant has great food for German dinners and great wine.

no tea/coffe in room or a small fridge to keep our milk/ drinks cool.very basic room needs updating staff not helpful at all ,just interestedin making as much money from tourist as possible they should try a little bit of customer servise goes along way

Very good breakfast. Kind hosts. Nice place, nice town. Promenade. A lot of possibilities for hiking. A mountain cable to Gedeonseck with spectacular views. A medieval castle on the other side. Be careful with the ferry to the other side, some days it stops to operate rather early.

One word - Wunderbar! The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinners were delicious and be sure to try their wine. We spent six nights here and used it as our base. We did day trips to Bacharach, St. Goar, Cochem, Burg Eltz, Cologne, and Marksburg. The “Gastekarte” made it easy to travel on the trains and gave us a discount on the Rhine River cruise.

The beds were uncomfortable and the breakfast rather poor. No eggs, only cold cuts, very limited variety. It was not bad but also it did not rise to the expectations considering the price.
