We were given the option of a large double and sofabed, or large double and two singles, and specifically asked for a large double and two twin beds, (this night was a night off from a campervan holiday so our kids just needed one night with a bit of space!) but got the sofabed. Luckily it was large enough and comfy but not ideal!

The restaurant was beautiful, food delicious and typical of the Black Forest, staff went above and beyond especially as we arrived late but the waitress kept the restaurant open for us and was extremely welcoming and kind. It was a really special family meal. The room was lovely and just so welcome to be in an old building where you can actually just open the windows and jet the fresh air in! Lovely bathroom room. Great breakfast, it really felt like we were staying in a home, not a clinical hotel.

All was good.

We book a 4 people room, it was big, with 2 bathrooms and a armchair, even a balcony. Really friendly staff, good restaurant. Traditional house.

There was lots of mold in the two showers we had in our room. The bathrooms were big and updated but the shower itself needs some updating. I’m could tell they were clean but it’s hard to get corners and the shower head had lots of calcium build up so it sprayed funny. Labeling the handles would have made it easier on which shower head to use as well.

Beautiful views of the forest and close to the highway exit to make it an easy place to get to Freiburg and Triberg. I liked that breakfast was included.

Only con is traffic noise at the front side of the building if windows are open. Everything else is pretty nice and the staff is outstanding

The only downside was that the room was dusty under the bed and behind areas such as the tv. after we mentioned it they cleaned the room right away.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. The room was very large and spacious which was great. We were traveling with our dog, and he was very welcome, also during breakfast and dinner. there are also nearby hikes for those looking to stretch their legs. The breakfast was good value for money, would be nice if there was more variation in food during the week.

Hotel getting a little rough around the edges, with a little TLC, this would be an incredible place to stay.

The outside appearance of the hotel is just what is expected of this type of stay. The hotel host was very pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was good.

Everything was too rustic for my taste, but for 2 nights it was OK.

Spacious rooms, friendly staff, very good food (though, as in Germany always is, you never have enough meals to choose from), pet friendly (always a white ball), very nice located.

It is very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is good. The staff is super friendly, and the place has very good vibe. Alexandra, (I think she’s the hotel manager), is most amazing person. We had lovely stay, and we’ll get back to this hotel for sure.

The breakfast could use some variation, so people have more to choose from if they stay for more than one or two days. Also it felt a bit basic, with no astries, pancakes or cakes. The curtains leave in a lot of light in the morning, it makes sleeping after sunrise difficult for people used to blackout curtains. Although generally clean in the room, some pieces of furniture would have needed more dusting and the windows some cleaning. Also, we could sometimes feel a strange smell in the bathroom - although quite faint - maybe because of the plumbing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, they respondend to our various requests prompty and with a positive attitute. For example, they offered to install a second extra bed for our smallest kid, so he could sleep more comofortably than on the couch. The room was big enough for us and it was generally clean.
