The construction, the lots of dead three’s in the area around the hotel and that there wasn’t much choice for breakfast.

The bed, the facilities in the hotel, across a tourist information, very nice staff and basically everything. Would recommend.

We met 2 persons from the staff. Both of them were arrogant and were pointing out mistakes to customers. They don't even try to speak English, although they clearly know English. Breakfast doesn't exist in this place. Although they offer a "breakfast to go", this is way overpriced and way too little. On top of that this 4 star hotel wants to charge for coffee 2,5 euro. Unbelievable

The place is very clean and has a great views. Great place for a family stay with huge national park near by. Sauna is available and is for free. I recommend this place for couple of nights.

poor breakfast choice (not existent) only coffee and tea in the reception. property is located right on the ‘main’ street - this is not very well depicted in images from property - undisclosed charges for ‘energy bill’ amount to 5€ / night.

dog friendly - nice terrace outside to enjoy sunny days - clean rooms - staff and cleaning crew were very kind and available - proximity to hiking paths.

On the maps it shows store, not the actual hotel. Hotel is on the other side of the street. Room was cold and windovs was open, turned the heating to the max and still didnt get comfortably warm till morning. At reception, worker didnt talked in english at all.

We have stayed in house 304. Cool view, very quiet. Bed sheets and towels are fresh and white. Fire place made our stay unforgettable. We would like to come again. Sauna was functioning very well.

Restaurant was not functional so not able to have dinner or breakfast on site. They should really provide somewhere to prepare food in this case as the only restaurant nearby was fully booked.

Fantastic rooms. Very comfortable beds and nice spacious bedrooms. Nice furnishing with coffee machine and kettle in room. Beautiful sauna area overlooking Brocken.

A little too expensive. No restaurant within the Torfhaus. Nearby a good restaurant, you can take away and eat in Torfhaus's terrase. It was a little too loud in the morning. Now that the forest in the area is dead, the value was way too high.

Very pretty furniture, loved the Sauna. You can stay with your dog, they even had a bowl with food for the dogs in the room.

There was no breakfast option at all (although while making the reservation it was stated that we can pay extra to get breakfast) - might be quite confusing. Apparently their restaurant room burnt and right now they are just giving away a "breakfast packs" - not the same thing though!

I really liked the "close to nature" vibe of this hotel. The rooms are neat and cosy, the staff is kind and willing to help you with any matter that you might have.

Lack of comfortable seating in the dining/lounge area and we felt the pricing for one night was a little too expensive

The location of the accommodation cannot be faulted and despite the poor weather conditions, you were still able to have amazing views and vista's. The house itself from the outside is very attractive, however we were a little disappointed with the living space, as this was not really suitable for the needs of our family, particularly from a comfort point of view in the evening. The accommodation itself was clean and well equipped - it just lacked comfort, and we felt it was over-priced for a one night stay

Mentioned breakfast, which didn’t match the quality of the hotel level. After four hours it was very monotonous. Fortunately, I calculated with this.

I didn't order breakfast, but if I did, I would have to wait until 8 a.m. to get just a package (covid restrictions?). I left at 7 a.m. without the breakfast and headed to eat at the nearest town on the way home.

Great and quiet location (out of the main summer season). The house was great, but I could only stay for one night. Definitely recommend for a longer stay for a few people or a family.

Fabulous view of Brocken. Excellent staff. The packed breakfast served as our lunch on our hike along the Goetheweg trail to Brocken. The coffee machine in the rooms and lobby were a highlight. Just be aware that there are no shops nearby, so be sure to take supplies with you.

Nice hotel and perfect facilities (breakfast-buffet and Austrian-style restaurant) just next-door. The rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable however not very spacious. The hotel is surrounded by a scenic landscape and forms a perfect starting point for hiking. Breakfast is perfect and the staff is very friendly and welcoming.
