We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsWe needed a stop over to catch the ferry in Rødby early next day and booked the Hotel Stokkegaarden's BnB & Apartments. The outside of the hotel looks old, worn and dreary, but when you get inside it is all new, bright, colourful and clean! Dinner was fine, breakfast ok, but the best of Stokkegaarden's hotel/b&b are the owners! Yes, there is still a lot to do, but it really is a gem in the making.

Denmarkroom was very cold, no heating available; was informed if we washed the dog in the shower we would have to pay a charge for blocked drain - we had no intention of doing that but discovered the drain was blocked anyway; when the bathroom is not near the room, robes should be provided, and also 1 towel per person are not enough for 2 nights - there is no way to dry them; the cheese at breakfast was so strong even the dog wouldn’t eat it; no glasses or cups of any kind in the room.

Nice B&B on the Danish countryside. We got a whole apartment for our family of 4. Very nice host. Breakfast was good with the most necessary things, good bread, cheese, ham, yoghurt and coffee.

BelgiumNothing specific, apart from the things mentioned above. Some benches outside at the front would also be nice. Since the hotel hasn't been open long and the owners are still improving things, I'm sure this will be a nearly perfect location in the future !
The owner was very friendly en did his best to make us comfortable. Our dog was welcome too. The room was basic, but comfortable enough for 1 night. But for a longer stay I would like some more comfort, like a TV and a means to make a coffee or so. And some drinking glasses would also be handy when you want to drink some water or brush your teeth.

Czech RepublicThe owner is doing monkey business - cheating his paying customers and the booking.com platform. Even if you have a valid reservation (already paid for, and without the possibility of changing or cancelling it), he calls you on the phone and pretends to cancel your valid accommodation (without the possibility of cancel and changing it). Of course, nothing like this has formally happened (no app message, no refund or etc.). Instead, he sells your room a second time to someone else to get more money (he told me this to my face on the spot). In 20 years of using the booking service, this is the very first time such behaviour has happened to me. I am absolutely shocked by it can happen perhaps somewhere far outside Europe but certainly not in developed Denmark. When I claimed my accommodation, which I paid for, the owner acted arrogantly, without any sign of humility or understanding. On the contrary, I got the impression that he wanted to throw me and my family out of the hotel. Due to the late hour, already paid and valid reservation, pressure was put on me and my family. I cannot recommend this hotel in any way and on the contrary it should be avoided. Just to conclude. At the time of check in, there was only me and my family in the hotel and 4 people in our booked room someone else.

BelgiumThe owner is a Danish Basil Faulty who refused me dinner as I would be 5 to 10 minutes later than the arranged time of 7pm so as to have a shower and change. Fortunately I foundation alternative restaurant close enough to cycle to that opened only that evening. Left without the breakfast so as to avoid the disagreeable owner. Would recommend you give the Danish Faulty Towers a miss.

FinlandOur room was in the corner, with windows to the parking lot and the main entrance. This would have been annoying, if we would have stayed longer, as all the noises from parking lot and entrance carried inside the room very well.
A very nice place for a "stop-over". We stayed here on our way to ferry from Denmark to Germany. Breakfast was a bit small and restricted but very delicious and fresh. All shared facilities were clean and in very good condition.
