Loud music nearby made sleep a difficult. Fortunately it wasn't every night, but maybe that was because it was over Christmas.

The open terrace where we ate breakfast each day has multiple hummingbird feeders and loads of hummingbirds. We spent Christmas day photographing the birds and editing photos! Location is great - Mindo is a small place. It is easy to walk to anything within town and even to some fo the hiking locations. The breakfast (for a small added cost each day) is fulfilling. Staff is helpful in letting us know where things are and how to get to them. You can borrow rubber boots for free!There is a bar/nightclub nearby with extremely loud music playing very late into the night.

We paid extra for breakfast but they didn’t have the stuff. Got some money back, but it was disappointing.

It’s close to a night club. We spent the weekend here and on saturday the music continued till 4am. Not amazing for sleeping. Not the hostel‘s fault though.

Very big and cosy rooms and a huge bed. Cool terrace and breakfast with birds flying around. Pretty bird paintings on the wall everywhere.

Friendly and helpful staff! Clean. Drinking water provided at no cost. Place to hang wet clothes. Big common area to relax in hammocks or use tables for laptops. Clean room, comfy bed, hot shower.

Inside of the place was a little crappy - not 100% clean, but abt what we expected for the price. Have to take a 10-15 min taxi to get to zip lining, hiking, etc because it’s a little far from the town.

Breakfast was delicious. Location right at the center of town was perfect.. Birdwatching deck was INCREDIBLE, even more amazing than what we were expecting, made the whole stay awesome, we saw a bunch of hummingbirds and other cool birds. Great view from upstairs on the roof.

The dorm had 4 beds and it was very comfortable. The location is right off of the main avenue/street so right where the restaurants and shops are. The staff are absolutely lovely. Luis and Esperanza were very helpful and always available if I needed something.

A little loud at night until about 11pm but not a problem with ear plugs or headphones. The pros out weigh this small con.

Great location. Fantastic bird feeders so you can watch beautiful birds from inside the building when it is raining. Nice breakfast which was good value. The owner is lovely and helpful. Good value for money. We had a private room which was huge and the shower was hot and powerful.

This is a good value for the price, but obviously not the most comfortable bathroom and bed. Only one towel per person, some bugs occasionally get into the room. Also mind that it may be loud at night with lots of dogs barking on the street and music not ending until at least midnight. I would still stay at the same hostal next time, as price+ authentic vibe+ friendliness of the staff overweigh the inconvenience.

Location was superb - right in heart of Mindo close to all experiences. Staff on the reception was very friendly and helped us with the information and directions. The room was decent, relatively comfortable bed. Good value for the price. Amenities included free storage for bags, which was helpful for our check-out day. There is a breakfast, but we did not make it (booked an early morning bird watching tour)

My room had windows that faced outside and windows that faced to the common dining area. The curtains to the outside did not fully cover the windows.

Luis was fantastic. Unfortunately we got food poisoning on the day we arrived in Mindo and he took care of us as best he could, and showed us some exotic birds from the hostel since we weren't well enough to do the tour we wanted to do. Our room was spacious and bright, and we enjoyed watching birds from the balcony and communal kitchen area. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The location is great - you walk 2 minutes and you're on the main street.

The bathrooms could’ve been a bit cleaner, but there’s hot water and otherwise nothing to complain about.

The hotel is super cozy, with a breakfast terrace perfect for morning birdwatching, and hammocks for relaxing! The owner is also very nice, and helped us book different tours and activities during our stay.

Great location, close to the centre. There's a balcony and a rooftop where you can spot hummingbirds and other bird species too :) staff are really personable and lovely. We did the night walk through the jungle which was really worth it - saw some cool invertebrates and glass frogs etc.

There is a bar/club next to the property. On Saturday night they played loud music until 3am, which ruined our night sleep.
