Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FinlandThe stuffed wild animals that decorate the place were a bit weird. The constant laid-back piano jazz in the bar and dining room was distracting. We sat outside in a rainstorm to avoid it. Water pressure in my shower was nonexistent. My travelling companion had Niagra Falls in his, however.
The lady who was doing all the work - check-in, serving meals and drinks, laughing at our stupid jokes - was so nice :-)

EstoniaThere was no mini-fridge in our room. It could have been useful during summer.
Hotel is beautifully decorated with stuffed animals. That was especially interesting for child. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, although variety could have been better.

United States of AmericaThe hotel has a history as a hunting lodge. There are stuffed animals about and some might not like that.
My room had a front-facing window. The ceiling was very high and that made the room feel spacious. The bed was comfy and I had a great night's sleep. The conflict in rail schedules of trains traveling north from Latvia and the connections to Tallinn is what brought me to Valga. The hotel is relatively close to the railway station. I walked it, but I'm sure taxis are available. Spending the night in Valga was a pleasant diversion. I had dinner at Lilli restaurant a 15-minute walk away. At the local market, I took the opportunity to stock up on food for meals and snacks for the remainder of my journey. It was a pleasant experience to spend a little bit of time in a regular town. The hotel breakfast was well worth adding to my stay. It had a lot of food variants and introduced me to some new ones I had to try.

NorwayIt would be nice if the hotel offers electric car chargers. The hotel does not claim to have any, however the Norwegian "Ladeklubben" App incorrectly advertises 3 working chargers (with prices and all) - which in reality are still in planning. But this doesn't seem to be the hotels fault, more likely Alexela (charger operator) made some mistakes here. Another useful addition might be to install a hotel safe in the room.
We were pretty much super happy with our stay. We arrived unplanned a hour earlier, but it was no problem to check-in. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. Huge comfy bed and lots of space to feel at home. The bathroom was spacious and functional. Maybe the shower cabin could have been a bit taller. It was also perfectly clean. The hotel provided bathrobes and slippers. The bed was very comfy and guaranteed a good night sleep, unless there is a particular strong storm outside (in Norway called Hans). There was lots of wind blowing and one needed to keep the windows open as the room was extremely overheated and there is no A/C. But that is hardly the hotels fault. For the second night, we had no problem to get a really good night sleep. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of food options, and in general of really high quality. The fried bacon, liver pate and bread were excellent. They didn't make the impression of being bought in a super market but rather sourced locally or produced on site in the restaurant kitchen. Coffee was freshly made using an espresso machine. This was one of the best breakfast we enjoyed outside of Scandinavia. We also had dinner at the restaurant, and were not disappointed. The quality was excellent. We really enjoyed it. Finally the staff was super friendly and helpful. They took good care of us. We will definitely stay at Metsis again.

EstoniaWhen I was preparing our trip to Valga this hotel was my choice right away. Located in the historical building in the quiet area just across the park the hotel is themed as hunter's manor. We had a room on the second floor. It was spacious enough for comfortable accommodation. The bathroom was clean and nice. We were staying for just one night and requested breakfast for the next morning. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff for absolutely great service. Also my special thanks go to the hotel restaurant where we had dinner on the day of arrival. The meal was delicious! We highly recommend this place to everyone who visits Valga and will be happy to come back again!

CanadaI didn't mind, but a fervent anti-hunting activist might get a bit freaked out by the taxidermied animals.

United States of AmericaThis was an older hotel, so there weren't many electrical outlets for charging of electronic devices. The bed mattress was a little bit too saggy for my comfort. The WiFi was not as fast as I would have liked, but it was sufficient to download photos overnight...
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel was clean inside and outside. There was an on-site restaurant that was open late and the food tasted delicious. The location of the hotel was good as well.

United KingdomNothing. Great hotel!
The staff member I met on arrival was very welcoming and friendly. I arrived quite late at 9pm however that was not a problem for her and was expecting me. My room was excellent -the beds are very comfy and I had trouble waking up because they were too comfy 😂. One of the best hotels I've stayed in within Europe! Didn't try the breakfast or meal so can't review that
