Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWonderful recent Hotel in a quiet place with great view on the Nile and the west bank of Luxor. Lovely swimming pool and also a jacuzzi on the roof terrace. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful and can arrange anything you need. Said, the manager, helped us organizing and customizing our tours and gave us very good advice, and Khaled took very good care of us during our stay. Food is excellent with fresh fruits and vegetables grown on the property. We would love to come back and definitely recommend this Hotel !

Hong KongVery peaceful and tranquil hotel. Staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast and food menu is very tasty, fresk and they try to cook with organic ingredients that they grow in their land. They have a nice little pool to chill and relax at the end of the day.

AustraliaNothing - obviously the location is remote, but for me this was ok. There isn't much around the hotel, so guests rely on hotel offerings.
the quietness of the location and the facilities including pool.

AustriaThis place is a slice of paradise, during our whole Egypt trip (hurghada, cairo, aswan, luxor) a lot of the places had awesome sites to see but the accomodation still had the noise and people trying to sell you stuff. Not Jewel Howard Carter! it feels like you are coming back home after a long day looking at all the amazing stuff around luxor and its position on the west bank has a great view of the nile and surrounding banana farms. We had to come back for a second stay after going to Cairo because we missed the quietness at Howard Carter. It can seem a little bit remote being in a small farming area but we had no troubles at all getting rides to the sites and into Luxor (indrive app was great). The bed was nice and soft and the food was also good at the hotel, we had breakfast twice and dinner once. Highly recommeded!

GermanyBeautiful small hotel. Breakfast is always plentiful with Egyptian foul, omelette and lots of dips. Very delicious food. Everyone and especially Mr Said, the manager, is super helpful with everything concerning tours and rides. Prices are reasonable. The hotel lies on the quieter West Bank. Taking the Hotel Tuctuc for 50 EGP to the ferry and then getting to the other side for 10 EGP is my preferred way to get to the city. Everything was easy and we enjoyed a relaxing week there.

ItalyThe pizza on the menu is just bread with cheese and vegs on top and the dough was raw on top. We suggest to cook the dough with just some tomato sauce on top and then add the other toppings almost at the end of the cooking time so that the cheese melts and the dough is more edible. The price of the food was 2 times the average. I would lower the prices.
We loved the Jewel Howard Carter hotel. It was super clean, with new room forniture, sheets and buildings. Also, they changed the table clothes of the restaurant everyday. The food was good, but you need to like the Egyptian food. Two Belgian tourists did not like the "sandwich" bread because they expected the classic french baguette but actually they serve the the naan/pita bread. We like it so it did not bother us. The concierges were very nice, they upgraded our room for free because I contacted them the day before asking for a Nile view room. They did not have any problem with us booking directly a private boat or a car without passing through them. I really liked this professional way of working. This is how local economy flourishes. The biggest issue in Egypt is finding reasonable prices for services because EVERYBODY tries to do the middle men gaining money on behalf of poor drivers which receives practically nothing for their precious services. Also, they never asked for tips, that's why we left them the change when we payed the restaurant bill. To be even more professional I would suggest to put in the room a price list of car and boat tours with the direct contact of the drivers so the guests would not feel exploited. The location was amazing! Very fresh and quiet! The best place for bird watching if you walk south and reach the closest boath pier (50meters). I saw purple herons, hoopoes, and so on!

GermanyThe wifi connection is weak and unstable, especially inside the rooms. It's better in social areas. I believe it's important to improve the coverage and speed of the service.
The staff is amazing, kind, and helpful. Mr. Sayid and Mr. Muhammad were extremely interested in providing a pleasant and comfortable stay. The rooms are big and clean. Additionally, other staff members such as Ahmed, Ali, Eltayed, and Khalid were really kind and always ready to help. The hotel is located on the West Bank, so it's far from the city center. However, the peaceful and calm environment you can experience there makes the trip worthwhile. They have their own farm so most of the food is organic directly to the dish.

This place is amazing. So clean, comfortable and in a great village location yet only a short taxi ride to the numerous archaeological sites of the West Bank. The hotel manager and staff are so friendly, as are the local people. The hotel’s facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi and television with Netflix all worked 100%. It is very easy to arrange trips via the hotel and the restaurant’s food is great. A lot of the food is grown organically in their garden 👍. I highly recommend.

United KingdomThe hotel is a little far from the public ferry, which makes you sort of a captive of the local taxi drivers - but taxis is not overly expensive, and it is possible to rent bikes from various shops on the West Bank which you can take back to the hotel. So this is not really a criticism so much as something to be aware of before you arrive.
The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was a plus, although I ended up not using it very much because there is so much to do/see in Luxor!

United KingdomThe location is right on the edge of the West Bank settlements . While this is good for visiting the tombs etc or peace and quiet, it is very isolated and it is not simple to go to other restaurants in the evening or get to the Ferry to the East bank under your own steam, which is what we like to do. However the hotel will arrange a tuctuc or taxi to get you to other places, so you can go out but it is not that easy.
A very beautiful and comfortable hotel. Rooms were a good size and kept clean daily. The place oozed comfort - the pool, the shaded terrace, the restaurant and the veg gardens leading down to the Nile. Most of all, the staff were so friendly - everyone had a smile and wanted to help. The restaurant food was very good and a beautiful setting, though everything on the menu was not always available.
