How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The facilities are very basic , but for 1 night it was good enough.
The location is really good - 10min walk from bus station and 20min walk from the Temple, but of course you can take tuk-tuk for 1$. The host is very friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of good information. I enjoyed my stay here a lot.

The owner of hotel is pretty nice and kindly. He helped me take the light show ticket and the price is reasonable. The room is clean. That's a really nice experience in here

Mattresses need to be changed (or the layering under them a reason for the sagging?).
Based on the lack of possibilities in town good value for money for backpackers. Host is very friendly and caring. Places to eat out near the place and easy accessible by foot.

Cleanliness left much to be desired, especially in the kitchen. We also missed the terrace or sitting area. It is absolutely in the center, but this center was not built for tourists. The local bazaar, where we were the only whites, shows the true face of Egypt. But we were not affected by atrocities, the locals are nice (or we were lucky..) The streetscape is unrealistically poor for European eyes
Our host was very kind, she speaks English well, we received a lot of useful information.

Wi-Fi is only in the main desk area.
Large room, hot shower and within walking distance to the temple. Best deal we could find in town. The owner is very nice and outgoing.

Mr. Hani is a wonderful host, so cheerful and helpful. This absolutely makes the place. Excellent coffee. Very good wifi for the region. Hot shower. A/C. Walking distance to restaurants (fish at Elmodhesh), the downtown area transportation hup. The temples can be reached by tuktuk or a longer walk. Many people visit Abu Simbel on a day trip. Staying overnight allowed us to visit the temple in the late afternoon with fewer crowds.

It was ok for the price,i wouldn't expect more.
Excellent option for a one night stay to visit the Temples of Abu Simbel. It is an excellent option for the money you pay, it's more like a guest house than a hotel. It was clean and quiet, bathroom is shared, very close to where you need to take the bus to/from Aswan. 15 minutes walking distance to Abu Simbel Temples.

Hany the host is very welcoming, hospitable and knowledgeable. He genuinely goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant and rewarding. The location within Abu Simbel is very good. Easy to step out and be in amongst all the shops and markets within minutes. You can walk to Abu Simbel Temple in about 25min. Plenty of choices for dinner in the immediate area.

Nothing to fault and i recommend it.
Our host is the best and offered us tea when we arrived. Arranged for our cab early morning to see the temple. The beds were ok and I slept very well.

Good location (for Abu Simbel), a great restaurant is close, and Abu Simbel Temple is within walking distance. Helpful and friendly host reachable by WhatsApp any time you need. Good, working wifi. Abu Simbel airport transport can be arranged if you need.
