Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I am so glad that we found this beautiful house. I didn't know what to expect, as I haven't been to Cairo in 16 years! But this place was stunning. And quiet!!!! It looks like a Palace from the outside, has everything you need for a comfortable stay, amazing freshly prepared breakfast (and often also lunch / dinner), and most importantly, wonderful caring people, who really try their best to help you out in any way possible. We will definitely be back. Shukran 🥰🙏

United KingdomIt is hard to find the property, but Essam came out to the main road and met our tuk-tuk when we arrived. There are no local shops/restaurants, so consider shopping or buying takeout on your way there. Essam generously shared his family's meal with us when we got there late. Maybe an evening meal could be offered to guests for a fixed price?
This guesthouse is beautiful, modern, and spotlessly clean. It actually feels more like a mini palace than a guesthouse. You can sit on the roof terrace in the morning and evening for hours and look at the Abu Sir pyramids (currently closed to visitors). The owner, Essam, is very welcoming, and immediately makes you feel like part of his family. He can arrange a local driver to take you to North Saqqara and Dahshur (both well worth visiting). We didn't want breakfast, so he left juice and mangoes from his garden in the fridge for us instead - delicious! There is a basic kitchen that guests can use. My daughter enjoyed playing with his children and his goats (the goats are kept in a separate area away from the guests).

NetherlandsThere were some signs that the room hadn’t been used in a while e.g. water smelt metallic in the beginning so had to let it run for a while before it disappeared, the boiler needed to be switched on for hot water and the drain was clogged. However, this was all addressed & resolved very quickly :)
Spacious rooms, quiet area, lovely rooftop breakfasts and convenient access to the Saqqara pyramids. Our highlight was Essam’s (the owner) exceptional service. We always felt very welcome. Essam made sure we were safe when travelling in and out of the property, and often drove us to nearby locations - and even once to the Saqqara pyramids! Essam also addressed any questions/requests we had about the property very promptly to make sure we had a good stay. Thank you!!

NetherlandsWhen we entered it looked like the room wasn’t used for a while. But staying there longer (a week) we noticed that the desert dust just made everything look dusty, even though it’s clean. We had to find out how the hot water would work (with a switch). But for every minor issue the owner would immediately come and make sure it was okay again!
View from the rooftop of the beautiful Saqqara pyramids. Me and my friend both booked a single room, and never had such a warm welcome. The owner went out of his was to help us in anything we needed. Always made sure we got home safe (picked us up from and brought us to our sport trainings and even Saqqara!). If we needed something for our room he arranged it immediately. Invited us for tea and traditional dessert. Breakfast was nice home cooked falafel. we Loved the Egyptian coffee. The service was just exceptional. Thank you again!

GermanyThe room wasn't very clean. There were hairs in the bed and I had to clean the bathroom before using it.
The Guest House is in a quiet Village close to the old Pyramids. While you can just look at the ones closeby, you can take an Uber to the Sakkara Pyramids. Essams brother helped me with food shopping. And there was breakfast on the beautiful roof terrace. The accomodation is basic and simple with a cold shower. I met wonderful people in the village. And Essam shared some of his knowledge about Ancient Egyptian Healing.

FinlandThe place is so remote it was impossible to get even to a shop without the driver of the hotel or Uber. I would also have like the opportunity to make my own coffee. But the coffee of the house is really good.
Essam and Omar are most friendly and helpful. As the rest of the staff. My special regards to Frank! The house is beautiful and the view is astonishing! It was lovely to visit the Sahura pyramids very nearby.

Czech RepublicHidden gem. Abusir is nor very usual location to stay in, while in Cairo. It is a bit rural but very peacefull and quiet. Next to the stables with fancy horses and with the rooftop view of pyramides. The space is nice and clean and the hospitality of the host goes beyond measures. If you want to spend time out of the typical arabic hustle and bustle. Here is the place just for you.

FranceNothing honestly it was a beautiful stay, away from crowded Cairo and I wish I could have staid longer. Maybe there is not a lot of indication to find the place but follow the GPS and you will be perfectly fine.
The guest house is well located just in front of Abusir pyramids, easily reachable from Cairo (even by Uber to go and come back), close to Saqqarah and Dahshur, in a quiet place. Nothing luxuous but all the necessary things are here, the room was clean and comfortable, and people welcoming. Special thanks to Essam who made me discover the pyramids of Dahshur and Saqqarah and was equally patient and helpful with everything ! He is reliable and really wants people to explore his country and can accompany you with his car to show you everything there is to see around.
