Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLook no further. Stay here!! This has been our favourite accommodation in Egypt. Hands down. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. The views of Hatshepsut temple from the roof terrace was amazing. We enjoyed the views from the pool as well as over breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and they aimed to please us. They took time to get to know our preferences and adapted things to help us such as making scrambled eggs instead of omelette for our fussy children! The room we had was enormous and clean. We ate dinner here both evenings because we could order Egyptian food for the adults and Western food for the kids and it was reasonably priced as well as being delicious. For a family of 5 a private boat to the other side of the Nile worked out cheaper than the ferry. We just hailed taxis and haggled for a good price to visit Karnak, Luxor Temple, Felucca ride, Valley of Kings, Colossi of Memnon, Hatshepsut Temple and Medinat Habu. All were amazing....but a bit hot in August!!

IrelandThe plus out weighs any negative. Other than the hotel, there wasn't places that we were confident to eat in the area. I'd like a fridge in the room.
The hotel itself has nice facilities. The pool is great after a hot day sight-seeing. It's a reasonable size for an adult to swim in. Terrace has a wonderful view towards Hatshepsut. The garden area well cared for. My daughter was delighted with the library shelf. I chose to be on the quieter side (West side) of the river. Once you leave the road, the area is quiet, with a rural views to the rear and animal noises. It's a short tuk-tuk ride to the river ferry. We stayed on the east the last night due to an early flight, but I preferred the west. We got good advice from the owner & family.

NetherlandsThebes hotel offered the best service and more. We don't have anything to complain about. From the bedrooms, facilities upto the employees, they offer us a great stay. What I found really nice is, there was sandstorm on our first day until 9pm. And the pool closes at 7pm. But the bartender was really nice and told us we could come back when the storm subsides and can swim. Even the next night, he encouraged us to enjoy the pool and swim. Unfortunately, we were too tired. Also the chef and the bartender in the morning even speaks Dutch 😱😍I really think the employees made 50% of the stay in this hotel really memorable. They gave the word "customer service" a whole new meaning. We would lovero stay here again. Highly recommended!

BelgiumArguably the best place in Luxor to visit the West Bank. Located at the end of a side street off the main road near public transportation (mini busses and taxis) and small shops. Less than 5 minutes by car to the Colossi of Memnon and just a little further to the ticket office. They have a vast choice of services including a laundry service, taxi to the airport or any other destination, the rental of a felucca. You name it and they most likely will be able to help you out. We stayed in the junior suite. It was clean, cool, spacious and quiet. The food is good and reasonably priced. We planned on staying for just 5 nights, but extended our stay with 2 nights just because they were so nice. The owner Mohammed and the staff were very helpful, polite and kind. Always ready to help us out. I am not much of a breakfast person, but really enjoyed the nice variety of food... coffee, tea, water, feta cheese, freshly baked bread, eggs, jam, etc... The views from the rooftop across the Valley of Queens and the Valley of the Kings are simply breathtaking. It is so nice to wake up every morning to this beauty. And to make things even better, you can take it all in with a cool drink from the side of the pool and if you wake up early enough you can even see all the colorful hot air balloons take off and fly by. A truly amazing sight... just a few a few steps away.

NetherlandsThe location was perfect, it was close to the temples and you could see the valley from the balcony. The employees and the owner are very helpful, they can organize any tours and even arranged a private car for us to Aswan. And the rooftop was great for tanning or to take short swim for cooling down.

United KingdomThe view from the terrace is truly exceptional. Generous breakfast and lovely staff. 5 minute drive from the Nile which is nice as it's a bit quieter and there's lots of greenery around. Comfortable rooms with good air conditioning and water pressure. Spotlessly clean and fresh sheets and towels daily. Cute balcony on the room. Great value for money.

United KingdomNothing not to like.
We really enjoyed our stay at Thebes Hotel. It was very clean, with a fantastic rooftop restaurant and rooftop swimming pool, overlooking the Valley of the Kings. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfasts on the rooftop were great and the owner kindly provided free tea and cakes on Thursday afternoons. He also made a point of greeting us personally which we thought was a nice touch. He also kindly organised a sunrise hot air balloon trip for us, which was superb. The hotel has lovely gardens on the ground floor which you could easily miss. From top to bottom, we thought the Thebes Hotel was a lot tidier and aesthetically pleasing than many others. Also, the hotel benefits from being down a short path (approx 75m) off from the main road, so we didn't here any road noise at night. Access from Thebes Hotel to the hot air balloon site, and to all the west bank attractions could not have been better, and way easier than travelling from the east bank. Within minutes we were exploring Valleys of the Kings, Queens, Nobles, and Workers, Memnon, Hatshepsut and Medinet Habut. It was all so quick and easy. In the evenings we could have eaten at the rooftop restaurant, but we wanted to explore. We found a number of great restaurants on the Nile, just 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk. We had no trouble getting tables on the riverbank at Thebes Restaurant and Nile View Restaurant, both superb. It's a similar short trip to and from the ferry terminal on arrival and when its time to leave.
