Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe place is kinda secluded but if you need a taxi they will provide one for you. Not a walking distance to the main road. When we arrived at night, my boyfriend got scared because he saw the cross in the main gate. We opened the window at night and mosquitoes came in. It’s given since it’s a farm house but annoying so we closed it again.
The property has this old rich money vibe. The pool and the view is nice. Good for photoshoot. The garden is nice as well. The breakfast is average but the croissant is nice.

LatviaThe only thing that can be a minus, is that there is no public transport or to be precise its rather far from hotel.
Very nice and cozy hotel with atmosphere from beginning of 20th century. Old family farm with authentic doors, inner yard, palm trees. Very nice pool area, where you can enjoy evening/night with wine or beer. During, hot days there is option that you have sunbath or stay in shade. Free car parking.

EstoniaThe staff is helpful and friendly, but English was not one of their strong skills. Breakfast was decent and the dining area just magnificent, but don't expect a bountiful selection of everything. Do mind the loction - it's perfect for exploring the island by car, but there is almost nothing within walking distance, except for one average restaurant.
The hotel is in an authentic old building and once inside the courtyard, you find yourself in a self-contained oasis away from the most popular tourist destinations on Gran Canaria. It's a perfect base of operations if you want to rent a car and explore the island and don't much care for crowded beaches or spa treatments. When back from your explorations, you can lounge by the pool instead and pop by the self-serve bar, where you're responsible for marking what you acquired from the fridge. This all-encompassing informality does make one feel very much at home.

United KingdomThe only negative point is that you need a car to get around. There are no restaurants within walking distance.
The place was very quiet but we did stay in December. Osvaldo was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel has a very interesting history, it has a lot of original features and is beautiful, it even has it's own little chapel. The room was very comfortable, the linen and towels were of a very high standard. Breakfast was excellent. Oswaldo went above our expectations and we thank him for his hospitality.

United KingdomThe bedroom. We were allocated a bedroom not in the old building but in the annex behind called “la casita”. The bedroom was quite depressing, at this price and for a “4 stars” hotel it was way below our expectations. It was not like on the pictures when booking the room and I honestly feel like these room should be put in an other category at a lower price. There was no mosquito net, no AC, no extract in the bathroom (bad damp smell, nothing drying) no fridge, everything was old and tacky. Stains on our bedsheets and towels. It would have been fine for under 100 euros / night maybe but not more. I heard other guests complaining about being allocated these rooms (I think they have 4 in that annex). We asked to change room but it was fully booked, they changed us for the last night and it was better, just a shame it was for one night only. The kitchen by the swimming pool made think of a camping vibe, where you had to pay for a coffee or tea. But it was useful as you have to buy food from the supermarket as there no restaurant in the hotel or close by. Overall I think it’s overpriced for what it is.
Charming place, nice old features and atmosphere in the communal area. Swimming pool area is beautiful.

United KingdomNestled amongst the ruins of an abandoned golf course, surrounded by a glib landscape of construction sites, towerblocks, and , towards the sea, a large, big-box shopping complex served by a multi-lanes highway, El Cortijo appears as an uncertain oasis in an otherwise post apocalyptic setting. The hotel compound is, by itself, a delight : a faded glory celebrating the architectural heritage of the island, replete with numerous historical features, lush greenery and a pleasant, leafy alley. The pool area is also particularly enjoyable, clean and well maintained. And yet, an uneasy feeling soon sipped in. The rooms we were allocated are part of an adjacent building christened “la casita”, a converted dependence to the main building - think here service area rather than historical grandeur. Our rooms had the charm and matching size of those of a budget hotel, and none of the facilities one can reasonably expect of a four star accommodation. The furnishings are basic, with no double bed, an old tv with two channels, no air conditioning, and not even a extraction fan in the bathroom (a moist and musky smell thus lingers). There is also no room service, no telephone, no minibar, and not even a mosquito net on the sole window of the room - don t make the mistake of opening it at night. Hotel wide, there are no restaurant, and no bar, saved for a bring-your-own, service kitchen next to the pool where guests can store their own food and drinks in a regular domestic fridge, and where a capsule of nespresso, kindly provided by the hotel, will set you aback 2.50 euros if you dare to make it yourself. This all contribute to confere to El Cortijo the jolly ambience of a French camping municipal, where guests gleefully eat sandwiches by the pool, prepared from delicacies sourced from the local hiperdino. Not that all of this matter to us in the slightest.

United KingdomThe hotel has great potential but it is in an area with no restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel is a very unique oasis of Spanish colonial charm. It has a lovely garden and swimming pool. The rooms are a bit dated and there is no access to a bar or food. It was slightly overpriced given the lack of facilities. Staff were very good.
