How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Son Palou is the perfect location to rest,walk,swim in the pool and enjoy excellent cuisine served in a perfect setting on a terrace overlooking the Orient valley and the mountains beyond. The owner Marc runs a great hotel, is attentive to all ones needs and really cares that you enjoy your time there.All the staff make you feel most welcome and attend to all your needs. It is simply perfect!

Lovely place to rest. The staff was very helpful and discreet at the same time. We were upgraded to a better room with a jacuzzi when we arrived. The views are stunning. Very big property, so it doesn’t seem very busy. If you go there you must have the dinner at their restaurant. One of our best meals in Mallorca.

Amazing quiet location, beautiful and well maintained hotel. Spacious & comfortable rooms! Staff was very friendly. Our best hotel in Mallorca so far!! We HIGHLY recommend ☺️

very rude staff, the owner looked drunk and was heard shouting at a lady and he raised his voice at me too(twice) after told him we were disappointed instead of helping he shouted at me and walked away. Its v unfair we were made to pay an advance and then cant get a refund with such rude behaviorBooking.com must choose properties carefully so people don't have such tragic experiences over their holidays.
We had planned a family vacation together with the children and decided on this property as the images and reviews looked good.After we reached the property we realized this was a scam as the pictures looked nothing like the actual property, the wi fi never worked,the jacuzzi didn't work in our bathroom, we were made to pay 100 euros on top which they told us last minute not at the time of booking.Upon sharing our concerns with the gentleman at the desk, he immediately got triggered and started shouting at us.Left disturbed we e mailed for a refund and they refused as the policy doesn't allow it. We had to stay as we didn't wish to waste all that money for a week.Day 2 I hear a lady outside the kitchen shouting at the chef, she told me she had been waiting for over 2 hours to check in and the chef was the one who was going to check her in as there was nobody else available.she was told since she arrived at 7 PM she has to wait till he served guests dinner and only then would he check her in. This trip was turning into a disaster for me and my kids so I requested the owner to issue us a refund as the service had been terrible and we were disappointed nothing was in working order and the staff was very rude, he decides to shout back at us. I immediately picked up my bags and decided to turn away from the property and esp the owner as I refused to be shouted at.It was evident it was not just us but 3 other guests that were in an argument with staff as they were deeply disappointed. Please choose wisely.

Too many ants in room, all gathered in bedroom bin.

Managment did not see changes to the booking and missed booking an additional room. Also requested a room with 2 seperate beds this was not done.

On the second day we had our cash taken from our room. On the last day my wife’s purse was taken with her credit cards. Police report made. They now investigateing When we told the owner he said we did it only not to pay our bil. Can you imagine the state we were in only to be told that. We paid on my card. After the first inside the we put a chair against the door at night we were so worried. If you go lock the room leave nothing of value. Take note. Terrible experience

Everything was excellent, the only thing I would change if I could is to make this place adults only. We chose this place as it was catalogued as one of the most peaceful hotels in Mallorca and we must say that the presence of children, particularly in the swimming pool area, does ruin the atmosphere of peace & quiet a little bit. The restaurant isn’t exclusive to hotel guests, so no guarantee that you’ll be able to have lunch or dinner in the outdoors patio, as there are only a few tables and can fill up quickly.
The location was exceptional, the views of the valley from the hotel and swimming pool were really beautiful. The place was peaceful, surrounded by nature with just the noise of the wind, the birds and the occasional sheep, an amazing place to disconnect. The rooms & the interior design were charming, the outside patio absolutely stunning and the food was excellent!

Amazing sweeping views. Super breakfast & meals. Very courteous staff. Helped us arrange a car & airport transfer. Marc is a great host . Very clean & beautifully designed rooms for common use !!
