How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room too small for two people. Walls very thin. We could hear guests next door as if they were in the same room. I had to go to the person in the room next to ours to ask him to speak more quietly one night after 12. Luckily, he was very understanding.
It was clean and a comfortable bed. Central.

Our room was right by the reception desk so it could get a little bit noisy at times but not too much of a bother.
Convenient location and nice room. We even got upgraded to a room with a balcony and street view which was a big plus. Everything was clean and the room had all the necessities. The staff was incredibly friendly and let us leave our luggage at reception after we checked out.

Our ratings are because: 1) we posted for service to our room and it was not serviced, and 2) there is an overwhelming, strong mold smell coming from the bathroom and it took over the room.
The staff was very friendly, the location was amazing, the layout of the room was cozy and the perfect size for two travelers, the bed was very comfortable, it was easy to access.

It had a bit of a mold smell and the air con seemed to go on and off
Great location and nice decor in the bedroom. Though it is quite small, I think the decoration helped give it a cozier feel.

The wall is quite thin, you can practially hear what the guest doing. Sometimes you will hear what they say, and it is quite hard to sleep. Considering the bed is also not so comfortable
The room is small but clean, the location is very good. Close to sol metro station. The price is also reasonable. I can not expect more with the price I have and the location.

My room was literally 3 square meters and it was a single bed. Very tiny indeed and I would prefer a double bed even being a solo traveller.
Location is amazing! The property is an old building they was reformed to be a hotel. It is simple and tiny; however, clean and super efficient.

Bathroom it's pretty tight but nothing that you don't know before booked it, the room has a table in and a chair that in my opinion should half of the size then it will be a bit more of space, the shower gel and shampoo, makes no sense because it's all the same as hand cleaner so better to change it and they could also add more pillows so instead of 2 will be 4
Location it's fantastic just in the middle of city centre, you can easily walk everywhere or use metro cause the stop is 2 mint literally, it's exactly how it look in the pictures so it's small but great, they have the details to leave you water, coffee, tea, for be a hostal it's comfy and modern but with some more details will sparkle more.
