Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandNo possibility to order meals at other times than the designated ones outside the all-inclusive. If you don't have an all-inclusive stay purchased then you don't eat ;-)
The hotel needs to be refreshed and brought up to the now common standards of interiors/exteriors, although I do not deny that it has set well great, food good although too much sweet, far too few vegetables - if there were vegetables it wasn't very tasty, good soups, room always clean, staff discreet, pools clean, we parked our car on the street "where there was car place".This hotel has huge potential for people who want to have an active vacation but requires a different approach to food .

United KingdomEverything was great.
The hotel was great, right next to a beautiful beach. Breakfast and dinner buffets were really good with lots of choice and always fresh. You could do lots of activities through the hotel, such as wind surf, kite surf, excursions, etc! We would definitely come back to Melia when we visit Fuerteventura again.

United KingdomA little hap hazard meal times despite the extreme hard working staff. Also not sure how you police people not on fully inclusive basis using lunch time snack or bar. Also anyone able to walk off the beach and use the pools. Be nice to have walk in showers too.
Wonderful staff. Clean and many activities. Great location. Short walk to beach and lagoon. Perfect. Only down side is paying for fully inclusive and other guests able to access privileges during the day without cost.

SwitzerlandReception experience was weird, the guy mumbled to himself and we had to constantly ask him to repeat himself, gave off bad vibes. Obviously this is just one individual and others are probably way more friendly but it was an unpleasant introduction to our experience at this hotel. The buffet style food was luke-warm on cold plates (provide warm plates at least for Goodness' sake). We booked a room with an ocean view but the room we got had a horrible view of a dirty roof lip beyond which you could see a sliver of the the ocean. Luckily we were able to change to a room on a higher higher floor with a much more decent view. Rooms themselves were practical and clean but tired from the halogen lamps era. Judging by the safe's control panel (red LED display from the 90's) these rooms have been in use for decades - but that is just a guess.
Beach location was amazing, hotel is a somewhat outside of town and has a solitude location, amazing walks along the very wide, sandy, clean beach. We only stayed for two nights - we would have not wanted to stay for much longer.

United KingdomAs the other reviews say the rooms need upgrading, very thin walls and just a bit old-fashioned and not very modern. Air-conditioning doesn’t really work that well, but didn’t matter for us because we stayed in January.
Beautiful location, right near the beach one minute walk away. Beautiful reception area, you can see the sea in the lobby area. Free, yoga and Pilates classes which were really good. Free tennis available, which was super fun. Food was average, lots of good choice and in the morning. Lots of really nice fruit but overall wasn’t super tasty or super hot.

SpainMany rooms have no sun and our first room (612) was cold, with no heating. They moved us to a room with sun (418) which was nice & warm. The hotel is very isolated, with no shops or restaurants nearby.
Lots of pools & sunbeds. Right next to the beach

United Kingdomthe room was ok, alot of ants. it would be nice to have something that will stop the beds from moving apart when joint. Its like sleeping on two singles that have been joint together. Myself and my son got really bad food posioning plus another guest that i spoke to. communitcation is really bad regarding an email i sent months ago. When i brought this up the guy on the saturday front desk was abit rude.
the pool was great, and the walk to the beach is amazing. the grounds are very nice and kept well. The guy cleaning the rooms on the third floor was really good. The staff that we met at reception on the 16th, a lady and guy with glasses. Super helpful.

Czech RepublicThe room got a bit hot in the evenings as it was facing the afternoon sun and the central air-conditioning was not strong enough. I would welcome a coffee/tea making set in the room.
Fantastic location right on the endless sandy Playa de Sotavento de Jandia. Nice views from our balcony. Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly and accommodating staff. Tasty meals.

United KingdomOut of 2 lifts only 1 was working some days which meant longer waiting times. Sometimes we had to use stairs from 8th floor down to 2nd or 1st. In restaurant we had to check the plates as sometimes they were not well washed. WiFi was available but unreliable by the pool. Room décor could do with updating but did not spoil out stay. Not a hotels issue, just bare in mind, hole area is very windy - pool, beach, etc
We loved everything, location, pools, beach, lagune, sea and sea view from the room, AI food, snack and drink, attentive staff, overall "feel good" about the hotel. All area was well looked after and cleaned/washed daily. Whilst hotel was almost fully booked we did not feel it, at all, no crowding in the restaurant/bars, always free sunbeds, plenty of space on the beach. Kids really enjoyed stroking local cats. Separate thank you to Paola on reception and Sebastian at Gabi bar for making us welcome and looked after. Amazing opportunity to try/learn water sports - windsurfing, kite surfing, wing-folding, etc

United KingdomIt's supposedly a family friendly hotel and yet no inflatables of any nature are allowed in any of the pools even the ones that are for children. The staff at the poolside were like drill sargeants who seemed to take pleasure in jumping on children the very second they considered going anywhere near the pool with any kind of ball or iinflatable. We saw 2 children playing with a miniature ball one day merely a metre apart passing it back and to and they were told they had to stop. A small child with an inflatable ring for her waist...same again. My son had a small crocodile inflatable ..same again and when I asked at reception where he could use the inflatable...we were told to take it down to the beach in the "lagoon"....let me describe the lagoon for you. Basically....sloppy seaweedy dirty puddles left behind by the retreating tide. Not ideal. So, yes the hotel was nice, the location not great, I didn't realise it was a hotel in the middle of desert...that's my mistake. But luckily I found my own activities to organise online because the only ones the hotel seem to organise are watersports. Which is a shame, as long as you don't want to have fun at this hotel...you'll love it.
The hotel itself was lovely. The staff were friendly, facilities good but not ideal for young children.

Please stop these individuals to enter to dinner like this, at least men with long trousers and tshirst and women in dress.
The staff was very friendly, food as you expect in these kind of hotels, but generally good. Pools super, view from our room was just perfect.
