Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryWhat I didn't like is that every single morning there was a man screaming In front of our window from 7:30 even on Sunday. He was working something with the ferry parking slots and organising cars, but even though we asked him kindly to at leat not to scream right in front of our window he said that it's his job. So if someone would like to sleep after 7:30 then might be it's not the best accommodation.
I am really satisfied with almost everything. The owners were really helpful, we could extend our room from one person to 2 people one day before our trip, and when we could not enter because the door was stuck the landlord came immidatelly within 5 minutes. There is a terrace with an amazing view, house was clean and it was cleaned every day.

Germany-the shower had almost no hot water, maybe because it was an overcast day. For me it was a bit disappointing because I love my hot showers, especially when the weather is a little unpleasant
-easy check in with code -small but comfortable room -rooftop with seaview -very clean kitchen, bathroom also -good location Be aware that Órzola is not a busy place, not much going on there and the restaurants are expensive (I went to Arietta to eat), but the surrounding areas are very pretty. There is a little supermarket so you can buy groceries and cook for yourself.

United KingdomI had a problem getting access to the front door as the sunlight was reflecting on the keypad, and I couldn't see the numbers. However, this was rectified as one of the other residents assisted me.
The property is in an ideal location within Orzola. The property is comfortable and clean. I would recommend this property for a short term stay.

PolandWe got a room with no window, but a single window in the ceiling, which creates an atmosphere of a basement, rather than a room. It would be nice it there were more shelves or a single table in the room. There is also No place to hang clothes or other utensils in the bathroom, which is very uncomfy

PortugalIt's very easy to catch your fingers in between the door frame and the door to your room when locking/unlocking it. The window of our room on the ground floor faced the street and offered a look inside to curious passers-by. There were no curtains other than a roll-up one that blocked the light completely.
Adequate room size, reasonably comfy bed, well equipped kitchen with a minimum of necessary utensils available to all guests. A clever system of individual "lockers” with a complete set of plates, cups, cutlery and a small towel for each room. Not too many guests chose to use the kitchen, so it thankfully was never crowded. Good location even though the village is quite tiny. The rooftop terrace was nice, even though we didn't really use it.

United KingdomFor the price there's little to fault. The room I was in was situated above the kitchen so noise was funnelled up to the bedroom. Bear in mind this is a shared house so if other guests stay up late, you'll hear them. There were no staff on site to ensure noise is kept down. Again, it was cheap so not a huge issue, but a complimentary bottle of water and tea/coffee in the morning would have bumped the score up.
I stayed at Mirador del Muelle for 1 night before embarking on a hiking trip the following morning. The house was easy to find and the directions from the host were clear (the door handle/keypad has to be pressed in order to illuminate the access code buttons!). The room I stayed in was clean, the bed was big and comfortable, and there were towels and plenty of plug sockets and places to hang my clothes. My room had no window (only a skylight) which was fine with me (in January), but could potentially make the room a bit stuffy if visiting in summer. There was no fan or air con. The shared bathroom (I had no problems with hot water) came with shampoo and shower gel, and the kitchen was clean, with basic utensils available should you wish to cook your own food. I didn't stay long enough to explore Orzola but would happily book here again should I return. There didn't seem to be many placed open when I arrived, restaurant-wise, but there's a small grocery shop a few minutes away for essentials.

Czech RepublicStale or nearly-moulded room. Disposition of the property won't make drafting easy, but it could be improved using some extra vents. Non-personal communication. The hostel lacks personnel (which in turn lowers the costs, of course). Nevertheless, the SMS communication simply won't build strong affiliation. The terrace door makes horrible squeaking noise when blown by omnipresent wind - this could be fixed using screwdriver or tape.
Location in the city (otherwise empty...) + value for money + terrace + other guests. All these contributed to generally nice experience. We can imagine it during high season being very vivid.
