Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMore generous provision of coffee sachets in the room perhaps, but I guess it would have been enough for most people, (I just need a lot of coffee). If I were being hyper-critical , the bathroom was a little dated but still perfectly adequate.
All was comfortable, efficient and very pleasant. Breakfast was generous with sufficient choices and the coffee machine was excellent.

SerbiaThere was a weird rumbling sound (not loud, more like a vibration) happening every few minutes that lasted for a few seconds. I don't know if it was the elevator, AC or plumbing but I found it a bit strange. However, it's not something that kept me awake, the hotel is actually really quiet for it's central location.
Perfect central location for exploring the city. Myriad of options for food, drinks, museums all within 5-10 minutes of walking. The staff were really friendly, the check in/out process was swift and easy and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Amazing roof with a view of the cathedral makes it very attractive as an option to just buy a Cruzcampo from the store and just chill after a long day of sightseeing. Really stunning.

United KingdomThe room was a bit dated, in particular the bathroom. Our room (405) had a few issues in the bathroom which I’m sure the hotel are aware of, although I have to admit we didn’t report. The shower head and toilet flush are functional but really need updating. We’d read reviews about thin walls and we could hear people in the neighbouring room but luckily like ourselves they seemed to just come back to sleep so we were not disturbed for long. Being close to the lift we could hear it when in use.
The property location is excellent, very close to the historic centre of Seville. The centre is a rabbit warren of streets but the hotel provided us with a map and we soon found ourselves navigating the narrow streets. The breakfast was quite adequate, fair range of breads and pastries, so we were able to fill up. There was some hot food but not to our taste. There was also a range of yoghurts, meat, cheese, fresh fruit and a couple of cereals so hopefully enough to satisfy most people’s taste. Importantly for us the coffee was quite decent despite it being from a machine. We travelled in March and the weather was fantastic so every late afternoon we sat on the terrace and soaked up the sunshine. Unfortunately the terrace bar was not open and it does state it is a seasonal bar but we took our own drinks with us. The room itself was very clean and the decor of the hotel was historic and interesting. There are lifts in the hotel although they are quite small. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and our rooms were cleaned every day.

United KingdomThe scrambled eggs at breakfast. Having two single beds instead of one double.
The location couldn't be better, everything is within 5 to 15 minutes walk. The room was smaller than I expected, and would have preferred a double bed, but I loved the spacious terrace and it was always spotlessly clean. The roof terrace is absolutely beautiful. The reception staff were MARVELLOUS, so friendly and reliable great! The breakfast was good, as far as fruit, yogurt, pastries, coffee are concerned. I was not impressed by the cooked breakfast being exactly the same every day (at least each one of the three breakfasts I had at hotel), and seemed like the scrambled eggs were out of a packet rather than fresh. Hotel Murillo is an excellent place to stay for the price, but I would make an effort to stay at their more luxurious Suites Murillo next time, specially as they magnificent reception staff is the same as far as I understand.

HungaryI was assigned a single bedroom on the ground floor right by the elevator, with a door opening to the main corridor of the establishment. I was constantly distracted by guests loudly passing by, even late at night and early in the morning. Also, the acoustic isolation was poorly established throughout the hotel. I could hear other tenants’ conversations. My window overlooked an inner small garden accessible to all guests, so I needed to keep my curtains constantly closed for privacy. The WiFi wasn’t too fast and was not secured with a password, so I recommend using it only for basic browsing.
The hotel was in a quite good location. The staff were very friendly and easily accessible both through the phone line and at the reception 24/7. I was glad that they accepted my last-minute reservation. The room was clean and well-supplied with basic toiletries, a hairdryer, and a flat-screen TV.
