Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomIt’s a budget hotel, so I know they need to keep their costs low, but there was just one tiny sachet of shower gel: not enough for one shower and no hand soap. Luckily there was a supermarket two minutes walk away and I bought a litre bottle of shower gel for 1 Euro!
Great location: in the centre of town and just 5ish minutes walk to the castle. Friendly and helpful staff. Spotless bathroom, with large shower: good pressure and plenty of hot water.

United KingdomThe room was very small, only one window which is French windows onto the little balcony which meant it was airless when closed. No cups or glasses to drink water from, no shampoo. The towels were so scratchy it hurt to dry your face. Very dated bathroom. in summary very unpleasant

GermanyI had booked an 18 square meter double room, single use with nice balcony for 30 Euro and I paid this amount on check in. But then the lady was giving me a tiny room with the sign ``privado''. She gave me the key and left right away, and when I realized that this is not what I had paid for, she was gone.

United StatesThis is no reflection on the hostal, but we were specifically told by Booking.com that we could have a room with a bath. In fact it was a condition of our resrvation. When we found that no room had a bath it was too late to move to another hostal/hotel. As a consequence we will not be using Booking.com again. It is obvious that you had not make a complete survey of the property because if you had you would have been able to have answered our reservation form truthfully.
No breakfast or bar but we knew that. What we didn't know was that no bars in Alcala were open after about 10pm.
