Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe gym wasn’t ideal and we had to go to a few different venues before finding out where we were going, and the dinner wasn’t great but you could find decent restaurants further into town
Breakfast buffet good value for money, staff on welcome were accommodating and upgraded our room to a suite for my partners birthday. I was really pleased! Thank you.

United KingdomWe had all inclusive (full board ) unfortunately we did not have water in our room (only first day) the included drinks were nowhere close to the ones you had to pay for! Like the cocktails with all inclusive were just sweet syrups And blended ice, so I find this a bit odd, like I would order a cocktail and would get it in a normal water glass and just ice and flavoured syrup and the ones who had to pay would get a fancy glass with the real stuff! So I guess this would be my biggest complaint with the all inclusive thing..other than that everything else was super nice and the staff were really friendly and helpful! Also the lack of a nice sand beach was really troubling as the one is close by and with a free transportation was quite nasty and small! It was smelly and full of seaweed, with the heat it got to the point that the smell was unbearable. Has nothing to do with the hotel/resort area or anything else! Just a heads up if you prefer sand beaches…this was the closest!
A beautiful peaceful place! Absolutely gorgeous view

United KingdomIt would be difficult to find fault on what was a truly excellent family holiday - oldest member of our party was 81 the youngest 16.
Our rooms were spotless and the air con was excellent - it was 35 degrees but felt like 40 so walking into a cold room after swimming was essential. A very wide and diverse range of food was on offer - we had vegans in our party, we were delighted to find chia and flax seeds as well as a variety of smoothies at breakfast. Our carnivores were equally happy too with the range of food and really enjoyed the mediterranean diet. Compliments to the chef's at Alua Soul it was delicious. Loved the pool areas and the informality of the snack bar - again everything was spotless and the alua soul staff happy and helpful. I also thought the nod to Baleric music, with an afternoon DJ playing laid back baleric house was a nice touch (not a cheesy tune in sight thankfully) and what Hyatt was doing in terms of updating Alua Soul suited the incredibly laid back atmosphere of the S'algar resort, a place with a really wide range of clientele ages. If you think this is a new Ibiza, then think again, it isn't and nor should it be. The hotel itself (currently Alua Soul) has managed to keep its air of understated elegance, architecturally the building is a timeless classic, indeed S'algar was one of the first tourist resorts on Menorca and really is evocative of a by-gone era (I'm not including the St Louis Hotel in this!), the gardens are beautiful and well maintained. There is no night-life or beach, but rock platforms to bathe on set around a small harbour. To swim in the sea you enter right off the rocks, which we found excellent. This resort focusses on relaxation, health and water sports - the diving and snorkelling is excellent. There is an excellent wild swimming Cala close by and the beach at Alcafur is small but beautiful - all within walking distance.

SwitzerlandThe breakfast had a wide selection, but some of it was of average quality - e.g. Oreos is not orange juice. The coffee was not to my taste. Does attract a rather large number of 'old' people.
Very comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly. Room very well decorated. Private pool was handy. Nearby supermarket. 'My Favourite Club'. Quiet - no screaming children (or their parents).

United KingdomI would say the pool was slightly bait and switch advertising and the big swimming pool advertised in the images was not included in the stay and was in fact a beach club that you have to pay around €30 euros a day for. The free to use pool was a lot smaller and more crowded than the images on the booking site. I overheard other guests being miffed that they had to pay extra for the pool. We were also hoping to have a drink in the evening by the pool but the pool closes at 6 which seemed a bit early which was a shame. If I was paying nearly €30 I would want to be there in the evening at look out at the view over the sea. Luckily there are beautiful beaches which we visited everyday but I feel for the guests that arrived by coach for a full board experience and didn’t have a choice but to pay extra for the sunbeds and big pool. Over a two week stay the pool alone would add up to an extra €300 if you paid every day.
Very friendly staff, check in was easy plenty of parking nearby. Buffet breakfast was good not spectacular but can’t complain.

United KingdomThe hotel was lovely although the restaurant staff were rather abrupt in their manner. The directions to the room were also confusing but the room itself was incredibly clean with all required for a nice time. Tea/Coffee etc in the room appreciated. We did half board and the food was really good.. Especially the evening meal. Pool location also confusing and from what we saw/believe there was an additional charge for the larger one opposite but I may be wrong. We were off season so may be different in peak times to be fair.

PolandFood is monotonous and not salted or treaded with any other spices, nor herbs. For the sun chairs around the main swimming pool is a charge of 20 or 40 euros. Nobody servers this area. You need to walk to the bar. Drink water is provided only as the welcome bottle. Other days you need to pay at reception or bar. Bright lights on the front wall balconies are switched off only past 1 am. As the whole village is a resort, it's very minimal choices (shops, bars, restaurants). You need to drive to the nearest city, which is also not very well developed for serving people
