How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location of this apartment is fantastic, close to the beach, shops, supermarket and restaurants. The host has designed a spotless, beautiful apartment. She has put a lot of thought into designing the interior, and it's also suitable for children with beach towels and buckets and spades provided. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. She also gave us tons of recommendations which were great, and was available whenever we messaged her

Just a little bit of street noise can be heard from the bedroom. If your not a light sleeper this shouldn’t affect you.
Property is well located few minutes from the bus station. Easy access to the old town of San Sebastián.

This apartment was perfectly located and worked very well for our family of 4. The kitchen had everything we needed and we were able to walk to all restaurants.

Just a little noisy at night
The apartment was perfectly clean, and there were lots of little extras to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The host gave us wonderful information and recommendations which made our stay even better.

Walking distance to beach and Old Town, but a bit far. Also parking should be a little closer.
The rooms were clean and properly equipped with the necessary items. The owner was friendly and provided all the necessary information in detail beforehand.

Bed was a bit small and hard, but other than that absolutely no complaints
The host is amazing and has very good suggestions on restaurants and things to do. The apartment is very clean and has everything you need. The centre is within walking distance so the location is great as well

The mattress was a little hard for me - but some prefer them that way

stupid download program on your phone to open doors did not work and upon arrival no one was available by phone!!!!! I had asked to be met at the door because I HATE REMOTE ACCESS AND ANY NEW DOWNLOAD PROGRAMS - and I was right - we got in because another resident opened the main door. for our entire stay we used keys... after we asked for them when we called again after ( 5 hours later) to say the stupid remote lock download did not work.parking instructions not so clear - parking is scary in/out access and very dark.
great location - very quiet for being downtown - very spacious and very comfortable- parking very close in secure garage. kitchen basic - they need to take inventory - 2 glasses of wine/ 4 sharp knives/ basic utensils for cooking cooker is those dumb touch/pulse/ induction/ frustrating stove tops - no working surface/counter tops/ no recycling? big fridge/freezer..... very large open living room - entrance ground floor just 4 steps up.....

The digital door system failed and we were locked in for an hour. The host was very helpful and sent a friend to let us out. Loud roadworks opposite from 8:20am - 5:30pm on weekdays (hopefully a temporary building renovation).
Good location, with cafes and restaurants on the doorstep, and it’s also easy walking distance to the beach and Old Town. The host was very welcoming and always available to contact. The flat is warm, pretty, clean and comfortable with towels and toiletries included.

Vendor did not tell that there is a construction site right opposite with loud equipment work starting 7 in the morning No more sleep possible

Scaldfolding was right outside the building next door, so you look out to scaffolding. Scaldfolding was in the parking bay that you need to unload your bags too. No one mentioned this before to us- It should have been mentioned. Pillows were hard and so was the bed. The flat smelt of cigarettes, even though it’s non smoking.The car parking space was so difficult to find (you need to go to 2 different Google map points ) Why can’t a map to follow be given , it would have been easier and we would have found it quicker. Not easy to find at all!
