Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesInterior hallways too dark. Feeling of being in an old building which I realize it is but could be brightened up much more. Floors uneven but became used to it.
Double room # 11 was good size (not a fan of the ultra small cramped rooms with no room to pass another person) with good window lighting and able to open for breeze. Bed comfortable. Bathroom large and bath amenities nice. Room cleaned daily and amenities restocked. Not too noisy inside or outside when in room. Quiet to sleep with dark room curtains.

NetherlandsAs I mentioned, they had pretty much every essentials exception of toothbrush and toothpaste. I did bring my own, but it would have been nice to have. I did travel alone, space wasn't an issue, but imagining traveling with another person, it might be quite the tight fit to get around. I still enjoyed my stay.
Room was had a bed, bathroom and shower (no toothbrush/paste). Location was really far from the train station, but I enjoyed walking more than anything. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, instead I went to a nearby local convenient store Albert Heijn to pick out my own selection (which was fairly everywhere).

United KingdomBed in our first room was awful, raised in the middle and sloped to the sides. Had to move but staff were great. More clothing storage space would have been good.
Staff very helpful, had an issue with the bed and moved us without hesitation. Room nicely decorated. Bathroom well proportioned with a great shower. Brilliant location, right by green spaces and a very short walk to bars and restaurants.

Fabulous location- near museums, tram stops and the bus from the airport dropped me a 3 min walk from the hotel. It was also easy to walk into the old part of the city. Plenty of shops and places to eat within easy walking distance. Great to be able to leave luggage before check in AND check out. Good size, comfortable clean room - comfortable bed.

United KingdomThe only noise it will be from the next door room. These old buildings do not have modern standards of insulation, as it is understandable.

GermanyThe room was a little bit on the small side, but for a short trip, this didn't bother us too much.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the hotel was in a very convenient location to explore the city. The beds were very comfy, and the hotel was on a street full of very beautiful buildings.

HungaryIt was rather tricky to find our room: number twenty-something, yet located in the basement!
The location was awesome, just a few steps away from A'dam's nightlife centrum. Almost everything is within walking distance, while the hotel is situated in a rather quiet street. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean.

BelgiumThe mattress was very used and there was essentially a giant cavity in the middle. I'm pretty sure it'd be very uncomfortable to sleep in with two people. Even as a single person it wasn't the best experience. There was also a little desk in the room which was partially blocked by the wardrobe, so it was just a tiny table to put my keys and stuff on. Working on it would be out of the question. The door for the bathroom was also partially blocked by the light switch, so when you open or close the door (if you could) you'd hit the light switch and turn it on or off.
Awesome location, very friendly staff, and a clean and modern bathroom. Even though the room is quite small, there's just enough space for two people. It's also very handy that I was able to put my door key into my phone using the app. There were also enough plugs to charge my devices.

Irelandsmall room but ok :)
The location was great for a good value, we walked everywhere, max 30 minutes from all atractions, when we landed we took the 397 bus from aiport and left us 2 minutes walking from the hotel, staff very friendly, we basically used the hotel for sleep, most of the time out, the rooms are small but are ok with their own shower and toilet and TV, bring your own charger as the hotel is old style and doesnt have usb charger, unless the TV has usb port on the back (we were lucky), there are not glasses in the room but you can ask in reception, we borrowed some glasses, our room has a very nice view with balcony, I will say the room and hotel was very good for our 10th anniversary, flying in from Dublin for a couple of days without our daughters, I would stay here again without hesitation.

LatviaI wasn't satisfied with two things - pillows (not very comfortable) and also there was no glass (for drinking). Be aware that rooms are not very soundproof. At some point a bit disturbing was the plane noise but it was a coincidence because of the storm and different road that they needed to fly.
Excellenct location. Bus stop (Leidseplein) less than 5 minute walk, we took bus 397 from-to airport. Room was quite small but good for few day trip. Be aware that the hot water in the shower comes long because it also warms up the bathroom floor. Staff very nice and positive. Room has towels, hair dryer, shampoo (2in1). Calm and quiet location.
