The top bedroom had been slept in and the towels used as they were wet. There was a breakfast bowl and glass in the drainer as if someone had just left. It didn’t spoil our stay but for some people it might.

The house was well equipped and brilliant location.

It is a little tired looking which gives the appearance of being a bit grubby but overall we did find it to be clean and it didn’t affect our stay.

Very central, location is excellent. Very spacious. Very reasonable price compared to other properties.

The beds in all rooms were very uncomfortable, and some of the furniture had seen better days.

The location was excellent for the activities in York. The house was lovely, had everything you needed for a short stay. Was excellent value for money.

Our only gripe was that it slept 6 people but the dining room table only had 4 chairs, there wern't enough wine/proscecco glasses for 6 people, no freezer compartment in fridge for making ice (a freezer would have been a asset).

Loved the location, plenty of places to eat nearby. House was clean and warm easy to get into using the key lockbox.

Only complaint was that the bed in the second room was uncomfortable but was okay for a night or two. We were rained off yesterday so left after only one night.

Loved the location of the house for the Christmas market. The rooms were a good size. The loft room was quirky. Had everything we needed for our stay.

The bed in the grey bedroom was not comfortable and the stairs to the attic bedroom are quite steep.

The house is in a great location for exploring York. It is spacious and there was good communication from the host prior to arrival.

The property is looking tired. It was surface clean but in need of some deep cleaning. The fridge, kitchen and bathroom tiles in particular. I got the impression either the cleaner is older or doesn't have enough time. All laundry smelt great and was clearly fresh. But money needs to be spent on the beds and bedding. My bed was very hard like sleeping on a board. I got the feeling that the owners haven't been to the property in some time and are not aware of its tired state as it clearly has had some love and personality put into it. For the price it was OK but I don't think I would stay again.

The location is fab. Close to the centre of everything without being on the main walk for ghost tours ect. So very minimal noise outside from people walking by ect. We couldn't fault the location and the permit was brilliant. It was very easy to park in visible distance from the house. The property has its quirks and I'm sure is better visited in winter as I think it would have a warmer cosy vibe. Lots of space and house for the stay. Little extras were included like milk sugar sachets, clean towels and tea towel.

The upkeep and maintenance is obviously not a priority. Unloved and pretty grubby in a lot of places. Awful, cheap ornaments/ wall hangings etc. (downstairs toilet mirror and Cork wall hangings looked the worst) extractor fan sounded like it was about to blow up as well. TVs not working. Gives the impression that “it can still be rented out so, why bother.” Cushions and blankets smelt. Doubt they’ve been laundered for a long time. Downstairs toilet leaking and floor constantly wet. Terrible cobwebs all over lounge window. Furniture long overdue replacement. Toilet seats loose and askew. I could go on. Won’t leave an awful review but, as a fellow property professional I recommend the owner makes some improvements. It was merely a base for us and it served its purpose. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else however.

Convenient location. Moderately priced. Family sized.

The property cleanliness wasn’t the best, everything just seemed to need a deep clean. The downstairs toilet had cobwebs and spiders in there, the rug in the lounge was filthy, the pots and cutlery were all dirty. The bed in the main (front) bedroom was horrendous, like sleeping on the floor. There was no TV in the second room, but it didn’t matter because none of the TVs worked anyway. The back yard was overgrown and in dire need of a good clean, certainly not as shown in the pictures. Also when we arrived the council were digging the road up, so we couldn’t park outside using the permit which cost another £30 to park on the car park. We also had machinery and the road being drilled all day from 07:30 so had to go out for breakfast because the house was shaking. We actually left the property a day early which was a shame.

The property was in an excellent location, just a short walk which brought us out at the bottom of The Shambles. It was very spacious.

The bed in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable, never slept on a harder mattress! TV in bedroom does not work. No freezer or freezer compartment in the fridge. Kitchen was under stocked for 6 guests. Shower in the bathroom has parcel tape securing it to the wall. Generally the property could do with some TLC and resfreshing.

Great location easy waking distance to city centre. Property was clean and tidy.

The kitchen was under provisioned in things like paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and toilet paper for a 2 night stay by 5 people. When an email was sent to alert the owner of these deficiencies I received no response. The toilet down stairs was full of cobwebs and spiders and the refrigerator was very dirty. The soap pump in the bathroom was empty.

Easy walk into the center of York. Located with in a 6 minute walk to a grocery store. Restaurants and services near by. Comfortable gathering areas. When we requested to stash our bags for a short time before official check in, permission was granted.

Whilst the house was good for a group of friends, I wouldn't go for a family holiday. Garden not like the pictures and run down. No where to sit. Need bins in bedrooms, these are essential. 2 wine glasses still had red wine marks on which instantly put me off using the crockery etc. My bed (the attic room) was comfy but my other friend's said there's wasn't. Pillows need an upgrade, they are wafer thin. With a bit of TLC this house could have a lot more going for it.

Nice, big roomy house. Loved that there was a bathroom as well as a downstairs toilet. Also liked that there was a separate large dining room, great for socialising. Fab location!
