How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Curtains on the windows to reduce the light rather than just blinds and it might help reduce road noise. It is on the main street and you can hear the traffic in 2 of the rooms but not in the 3rd which is at the back. However I did not find it too troublesome as it is the high street so quieter overnight and I slept quite well. A toaster would be good and more pillows as only 1 pillow per person. Maybe also wifi as signal was not always so good on the mobile phone
The location was excellent to access the ferry, harbour, nice bars and restaurnts. very clean apartment and nice stylish decor. Lovely bathrooms, plenty towels, provides amenities such as tea towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen.

WiFi would have been good as we didn't have great phone signal. We stayed 1 night on a busy Saturday - I was very aware of late night street noise - but others in our group were not bothered by it so guess it's what you're used to - and is to be expected in a town centre.
Location was very central, great for eating out and enjoying the town centre. Really handy for trains / buses / ferries. Car parks close by. The apartment was very clean and attractive with plenty of space. Beds were comfy. The host was super helpful and quick to respond to questions. Good value for a family group of 6 adults.

It didn’t have a microwave, a very minor inconvenience for us though. Also, only one set of keys which wasn’t great when you were coming home at different times as you needed a key for the main front door.
Excellent location, clean and well equipped. Lovely modern furniture and bathrooms.

No tea towels or cloth/sponge in kitchen. We were only staying for 1 night so didn’t bring those things.
The decor. The fact that every room was en-suite. Everything is finished to a high standard. Loved it.

No curtains in any bedrooms and the blinds let in a lot of light when we stayed in summer. No toaster or wine glasses in apartment but otherwise a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher for a short stay.
We stayed for one night in this great pet friendly apartment in the centre of Oban. The location couldn't be better. The pictures don't do the apartment justice and it has 3 double bedrooms with ensuites and a large kitchen/dining area. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in Oban - a clean and comfortable stay!

Trade off for such a central location was that parking close by was tricky
Perfect location and set up for our family group (8 people split over two apartments) to make the most of a one night stop off in Oban.

There is no designated parking and the parking meters are only for 2 - 3 hours so you have to move the car a lot. There is also no wifi in the available in the apartment.
The property is based on the main street in Oban it really is a great location. All 3 bedrooms are double rooms and all 3 bedrooms have bathrooms. Its not only noisy despite being on the main street and the kitchen is well equipped.

The couches and floors were covered in dog hair. I had to hoover the couches and floor myself.
The apartment was in the best location. It was beautiful on the inside too.
