How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Amazingly friendly, helpful staff - we've stayed before and always been well looked after. Good food, good range of breakfast options and reasonable price. Lovely big comfortable rooms.

Breakfast was rather haphazard. All the bowls of cereal and hot food were served at the same time rather than cereal first and hot breakfast when cereal was finished.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The evening meal in the restaurant was very nice. Good value for money and plenty of choice on the menu. Breakfast menu was good value with plenty of choice just see comment below.

Great staff and friendly service Good food. And friendly service Whilst not as luxurious as our usual type of hotel it was less than half the price we usually pay. It was clean and the staff were friendly. It's proximity to the m5 was a real bonus. Plenty of parking

Bit of road noise (but that can't be helped, if you want the windows open) - it was a very warm weekend. The staircase to the room was a bit grotty, needs new carpet.
Large comfortable room - really friendly staff. The food was excellent, service with a smile. We felt very welcome and had a lovely evening after a day of house-hunting in the area.

Friendly, helpful staff, perfect location for access to Bridgwater for an appointment and then M5 for long drive home. Excellent value for money, clean and comfortable room, powerful shower!

Soap dispensers on wash basin and in shower didn’t work. Online main menu didn’t match wasp hat was actually on offer p, especially for vegetarians. Only one chair in bedroom. Very dim lights in bedroom.
Very helpful staff. Convenient location for our purposes and easy to get to from M5.

As you edit the car park there is a road abutting it on left. When I first went to pull out into main road, I looked left, right, left and as I was about to go a vehicle just appeared to my left but I was committed to the manoeuvre so had no choice but to go. Thankfully the vehicle on my left stayed put otherwise it could have been a nasty accident. Don't know what they can do, perhaps some large warning signs when exiting the car park! I didn't know about the road as it was my first time at the property and I'm not from the area.
Wifi was included. The hotel was clean and comfortable. A little dated and some maintenance issues but it is an old building so doesn't matter. It is on a busy road but there is triple glazing so they've tried to mitigate the noise as best they can. Traffic noise didn't disrupt my sleep. My brother had a room at front and he wasn't affected by road noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Large car park at rear. Excellent breakfast.

The bathroom has seen better days and could do with refreshing. The radiator was left on full so the room was very hot on arrival.
Good location. Very good price. Suitable facilities for a young family having a night away from home. The room was large and well equipped. Bedding and towels were clean and obviously fresh.

The bed was really comfy and so was the pillows. Really lovely staff was helpful when my booking went wrong. Really fast food service too we ordered drinks and got them within 3 minutes and food not long after.
