How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room was not part of the main building but at the back, pictures are not what you get, arrived very late and hotel manager attempted to say we had cancelled via WhatsApp the booking - after hours of travelling last thing we needed was to get scanned, this then left us uncomfortable staying so stayed out all next day

Room was very small for a family of four but we just needed somewhere cheap to sleep, so not a huge issue. Only one of us managed to get hot water for our shower in the morning which was a big frustration. Bed sheets were clean but previous stains were still viable - which put us of somewhat.
Location and price. Right next to tube station on the northern line for access into Central London. Staff were lovely, helpful and acommodating. Free parking - even for the full day after our nights stay was perfect for us.

Stayed for one night and the room was perfect for what we needed. Friendly helpful staff, he let us check in early so we could dump our bags and go back out to London. Clean spacious room with nice shower and comfy beds. Tea and coffee making facilities included. Literally 2 minutes walk from the tube station which was handy on a nice street. Would definitely stay again.

There was a bright light outside at nighttime that could be seen through the blinds. I suggest getting thicker blinds as it made it hard to sleep.
Very friendly manager. Basic hotel, decent for the price.

Guest in room next door constantly in and out and locking and unlocking door past midnight. Showerhead a bit odd as good pressure but didn't come out of all of nozzle.
Great location- close to underground and easy to get into central London. Nice room and bathroom. Tea facilities and hairdryer both worked well.

Some of the lamps needed to be fixed.

Nothing. Everything was fine.
Booked a small double room and was put into a large room with 2 double beds. I didn't need the extra space, I was only staying for one night, but this was a nice surprise. It is close to the tube.

Separste entrance to the back of the house where our room was located was a bit shabby unlike the front of the house.
Excellent location close to Golders Greea Bus Station - convinient for short stay, if travelling to or from Stansted or Luton airport. Excellent value for money. Basic room but equipped with table, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a heater. Ensuite bathroom and shower facilities tiny, but in good working order

There’s like 2-3 cm under the door that is just open, so the cold gets drafted in the room and you hear everything that happens outside. It was very quiet luckily, but it was raining pretty hard
Very close to Golders Green station. Good for one night.

However, the room was very small, there was very little gap between the bed and the wall to allow me to go through to reach the ensuite toilet, and the door of which could not be opened fully due to limited space between the bathroom and the bed. The bed was comfortable, however I saw a bed bug crawling on the duvet after waking up, and this has ruined everything I felt good about the place.
The place was very close to the tube station, the staff was very friendly, the facilities in the room were alright and the bed was comfortable.

TV in room only able to pick up 5 channels (BBC news, BBC Alba, BBC3, BBC Parliament and BBC Scotland) plus accesss to some films but only in German. I asked for help sorting this but didn't get any
