How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

My mum has asthma and the stairs were a bit much.
The staff were amazing. Did everything they could to make our weekend as relaxed as it could be. Food was fantastic.

The room was a little noisy but that was from outside and not anything that could be effected by the hotel.
The location is as good as it gets, next to the railway station and walking distance from the centre and most of the attractions.

Can't fault an excellent hotel, with a fair price.
A lovely building, located just opposite the railway station. Good breakfast served in an airy room. Nice room very clean.

Shared faculties were fine but one of them without window was like the hot house at Kew Gardens - nice after a long walk but a bit jarring at 3am.
Located right next to Nottingham station which was excellent. Bar / breakfast area was very cool. Staff also super helpful and food was as expected. Recommend

Was expecting a bistro restaurant, but had to go out to eat
The room was remarkably quiet despite overlooking the station. The staff were so friendly, i felt looked after and they were interested in my day.

We were expecting some noise because of the location, but the Tesco's delivery lorry at 4:30 am was quite loud (hotel is next to a Tesco Express). I would use this hotel again if I needed a short stay and access to the railway station, but not if a good night's sleep were essential.
The hotel is just opposite the railway station, so the location is excellent. We needed this for a one-night stay while spending just a morning in Nottingham before onward travel. The room was very nice: spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a good continental breakfast.

The blinds in the room didn't keep out much light from street lights or early in the morning. Floor in one of the shared bathrooms needs grouting.
Staff very friendly and welcoming as usual. Breakfast great. Location close to the station is ideal.

Too much ultra processed food in it
Missed breakfast due to early train journey. Given breakfast bag which wasn't particularly appetising .

The window let in a lot of noise, there was a pringles tin under the bed, and bed kinda makes the body hurt if you sleep on your back or shoulder
The staff were friendly, the aesthetics are nice , and the location is great.

Bits about the bathroom:- shower head fitting broken, pressure weak and water not very hot. Motion operated lights are a good idea but the downside at 4 am is they stay on for quite a long time and shine through windows from bathroom into bedroom. Will bring an eye mask next time!

My only reservation is that I was under the impression there was food in the evenings, but there wasn't. Food options near there aren't brilliant (but adequate)
This is a very pleasant hotel: small but with reasonably sized rooms. Extremely comfortable and couldn't be closer to the railway station (but absolutely no noise from the station). Excellent breakfast.

Water pressure in the shower was a bit low, black tea at breakfast was a bit too strong
