There wasn't anything I didn't like. Well I would have liked to see a ghost, but that didn't happen.

Staff were friendly, room was stunning, luxury without losing the feel of the jail. Food was amazing! Accessible! Worth the money. Central to things we had planned.

Unique venue. Beautifully converted. The food was delicious. We also did the museum tour- which is well worth a visit.

The breakfast was good but a couple of little niggles but I spoke to the staff and it was recorded to be improved.

The hotel was fantastic and a great experience. You can wander the wings and get a feel for what a prison is like. Love that some of the original features have been kept. Loved it.

The postcode does not take you to the site. We ended up down some country lane outside someone’s house and had to ask for directions from a local resident. It appears day visitors to the tour site choose not to park in the provided parking area, instead parking on the road which caused significant congestion and risk to people crossing the road. I guess the parking fees may be quite high and clearly the road would benefit from restricted parking or double yellow lines. Again, for locals it must be a real pain.

Wonderful venue and very different from most hotel stays. Very well presented and the staff are very accommodating.

Only one arm chair in room. Pillows a bit hard. Wines and cocktails expensive. Bodmin town is depressing.

Beautiful and imaginative restoration. A slice if history saved. Rooms comfortable and clean. Good quality linens. Friendly crew. Food overall at breakfast and dinner very good to excellent. Both of my first food choices at breakfast (fish) and dinner (burger) were disappointingly unavailable but considered a good sign. Menus reassuringly short. Free on site parking. Doggy friendly. B and B good value for what you get. Pop into town for a pre dinner pint at the Hole in the Wall. 10 minute walk. Wonderful locals' pub recommended in the Good Beer Guide and Good Pub Guide.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic, we were asked to book a time slot but the restaurant was madly busy and just seemed to be a bit disorganised! Having said that it was delicious once we were seated.

It’s an experience hotel where you can immerse yourself in the history of the place and make discoveries about what it would have been like to have been interred there, albeit in complete luxury and not as it would have been in the 18th century! Fabulous comfortable and well appointed rooms with all the amenities necessary and helpful staff to ensure your stay is comfortable. The restaurant food is delicious and beautifully presented, and a visit to the champagne bar a must.

The only downside was I booked a family room for me and my 2 boys (aged 12). There were only 2 double beds which meant I had to share with one of my boys which wasn’t ideal and caused a bit of a disagreement about who was going to get a bed to themselves!

Amazing hotel, very quirky. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious and it was just a great place to stay for a different experience. The staff were lovely and helpful.

No information literature in room apart from drinks price list and restaurant menu. Had no idea how to use the safe. Restaurant details,? local amenities? and tours? Didn't eat dinner as didn't like the food on offer. Nowhere in the shower to put shampoo/soap etc without having to bend down to the floor.

American cold air conditioning. Super comfy bed. Superb breakfast with top quality ingredients. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Wardrobe door was faulty making it difficult to open and close, the safe needs to be higher for ease of access. The bath tap was faulty and wouldn't switch off so maintenance were required which lessoned the experience.

Breakfast was very good with excellent choices for differing diets.

The women who checked us in is in the wrong job she was abrupt rude and grumpy however every other person we had an interaction with were all so lovely just upsetting upon the first encounter we have a very rude worker and was not welcomed into the accommodation just an abrupt “ did you book?” “Name?” Despite her, everyone else was absolutely lovely
