The fact of no evening meal. When we came in at night the bar was closed. No atmosphere most people like to sit at a bar and chat. Really let themselves down in these areas. Nothing at all at night. Would not go back as it was a case of going up to your room after you were out having your meal. I think they should have these facilities available as part of your stay. Especially when it is off season and the weather was not good. The breakfast was very nice. Disappointed about the evening experience ☹️☹️

The location excellent staff very friendly. The decor was beautiful.

No restaurant or bar in the evening, nowhere to sit other than your bedroom or reception, which isn’t a comfortable space to use. The fire doors in the corridors are very noisy, I know they’re essential but they could be damped to make them quieter. The pillows were all very firm and all the same, a range would allow you to find something suitable. I ended up using a cushion instead.

The staff were brilliant, really friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and newly refurbished so very smart. The location and views are great.

As I have already stated, the fact they don't have a lift excludes, people with disabilities, or elderly. This hotel has just opened after a massive refurbishment, they haven't got the mix right. A small chair on the first landing would be a massive help. There is no bar, or lounge area to sit in if you are there on a B&B basis. On a wet and windy day/night you have to sit in your room.

The hotel is beautiful, and perfect location. BUT does not have a lift. I had booked a executive twin room which was lovely with exceptional views. However my friend being of tender years struggled every time we left the room. Staff were very helpful.

Would have been nice if there had been a bar although you could order drinks to be brought to the room. We didn’t bother doing that. Again having a restaurant for evening meal would be good. Saying that there were plenty of nearby which the staff told us all about.

Location was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. The room had been recently refurbished and was lovely.

A shame that the hotel did not do lunch or dinner services. Very bright green ceiling safety light which actually detracts from sleep perhaps these could be dimmable at customers choice.

Great breakfast, great location. Good parking. Lovely staff

The owners had recently refurbished the hotel and obviously made the decision to not serve evening meals or open a bar in the evening - presumably as the venue is now very focussed on weddings and events. This wasn’t a problem as there were plenty of places to eat nearby and we just bought wine locally too. There was no accessible lift if you needed that. The back room without a view was fine but we could hear the washing machines going in the night. Also the green safety light in the room was so bright you could practically read by it and as someone who likes it dark when he goes to sleep this was very annoying.

Lovely property, clean, excellent location. The staff were wonderful, especially Mary on reception and the person on breakfast (whose name I didn’t catch). The room was clean, comfortable and the shower was wonderful. Loved the smart tv and good wi-fi. Great parking.

I did not like the fact, that: There is nothing put in place for Disabled People. I coped but still struggled. The first stair in front of the hotel was very high to get on to.There is no ramp and quite a few stairs up to the main hotel entrance. Inside: There are No Lifts, only 2 staircases that wynd around: About 20 Stairs on each section to the First Floor. I have no idea how many stairs to the top floor: (The Second Floor.) Our bedrooms were nice, but smaller. They were the rear bedrooms away from the hotel's function room, where they hold weddings and other party functions. Other front bedrooms look out to the sea and are a bit larger, but are above the function room downstairs. So you may hear some noise. Bedrooms are pretty soundproof, but No Aircon. You need to open the window instead. There is nowhere for you to sit down and have a coffee or tea in the evening and chat to friends or family members downstairs. You have to either go out or stay in your room and order Room Service. The breakfasr coffee and tea are very weak. The bed is large but very high to get up and on to properly if disabled or have an issue getting into bed. The pillows are of foam, and albeit they are bouncy, they are pretty hard going on the neck.

The hotel is attractive outside and inside. Free Parking: Register your car at reception. The hotel is very clean and presentable There is an outdoor seated cafe, but it is closed for the colder months. The hotel has a ground-level Disabled Toilet inside. Bedrooms are very nice with large TV,: Free Netflix, plus other apps that you just register with, first. A kettle with a hospitality tray in rooms, but watch the sweet/candy tray as you pay for that. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in power shower.. A hot breakfast is cooked to order, plus a cold buffet, to choose from. Seating is comfy in the breakfast area with nice views. Staff are polite and friendly. Location is great: Famous Nardini's Ice Cream Parlour is only two doors down from the hotel Tony Macaroni Restaurant is in Nardini's, too. Nardini's is just the same as it was years ago: Akin to the 1940s Art Deco... There is an Italian restaurant called The Alegria, on the same side as Nardini's, beside a church, literally steps away. It is lovely, but not cheap. The Dearest Starters £8 The Mains,: £30 & Desserts: £9 or around... Pasta's: £11 to £14 Pizzas cost around £11 to £14 Selection of lovely Coffees.£3.50... The Beach is opposite the Hotel, and plenty of Cafe's and Shops are a short walk from the Brisbane Hotel, past Nardini's. The Ferry to Millport is opposite the hotel, but a little further down. Overall, Largs is a pretty town! There is also a Free Carpark beside Nardini's.

We're used to a king sized bed, so found the double bed a bit small, but that's not a fault on the hotel's part.

The newly refurbished Brisbane looks fab and is cleaned to a high standard with beautiful decor and furnishings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

There is no hotel lounge to relax at night. The hotel does not do evening meals anymore so you need to look at alternative restaurants for your evening meal. Not a big concern but no access to a hotel lounge area in the evening is a major draw back in my opinion.

Recently modernised, very clean, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff.

Our only big issue was that we weren't told that there was a function on on the Saturday night. The room we had been upgraded to was directly above this so we could hear every song that came on. If we knew we would have just stayed out later but we'd had a full day of exploring and then a late dinner so we could go back and relax in the hotel room. It was all round a lovely stay but as someone that needs a solid sleep and was there to have a quiet stay outside the city it did put a bit of a damper on the mini holiday.

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Staff were lovely and very friendly. It had just been reopened after a massive renovation which we didn't know but it was a nice surprise finding out we were the first guests there. Got a stunning upgrade on the room we had originally booked with a sea view as well. We knew they're would be teething issues with having just opened back up. Brought up a few issues that the staff were more than happy to take to feed back on and we weren't fussed by them.

Corridor to dining area toilets was very cold due to fire doors left open. Some signage to 2nd floor rooms would help. Minor points tho'.

A waiter called Frank was very rude when asking who was eating in the restaurant as there were people away from the table. However some people wanted top order and he did not react very well at all. Needless to say he stayed away from us afterwards, It was unnecessary and as it was a funeral part did upset some of my family. I had a effect on the girls who were in mourning. Not myself as he addresses me personally and it was rude.

Food was excellent and the sandwiches served during the afternoon of a funeral wa s superbe.

Welcoming and friendly staff; great food and comfortable rooms. Great location for the cumbrae ferry and all that Largs has to offer.
