Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAir conditioning could be improved, the room was cool but we do like a very cold room and it wasn’t possible to adjust lower. A positional reading light would help. Complimentary drinking water in room on arrival would be better than waiting until after turndown service. An explanation of how the breakfast credit works at checkin would have been more helpful, It was very confusing at breakfast and it wasn’t clear from menu if toast came with certain items, which it did, and you could have as much as you liked! Although lovely and impeccably clean some areas of the wet spa facilities could do with an update.
Staff and service went above and beyond expectations from arrival to checkout. Proper 5* service, no queue at checkin, drinks offered at checkin, and room was ready and allocated immediately. Room was lovely and very spacious, huge bathroom with separate bath and shower, great. Lovely fluffy towels, robes and slippers. Room service and turn down was great. Liked having breakfast cooked to order rather than buffet style and breakfast finishing at 11am and checkout time of 12pm is great, meant we could make full use of the facilities. Loved the infinity pool, ladies changing room sauna, and changing room facilities, a great bonus to our stay. The location was excellent, loved the proximity to the riverboat pier and the gardens and grounds were beautiful. Overall we loved the calmness and tranquility of this hotel and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomNo tea and coffee making facilities in room unless you ask for it. This is poor for a 5 star hotel. When we first asked, we were told they were all taken as the hotel was busier than usual (London Marathon weekend). However, Samarth managed to get it sorted and delivered them to our rooms personally.
Great location, immaculately clean, very friendly staff. Samarth, the duty manager was exceptional in making sure everything was good.

Visited the hotel to watch the London Marathon. Good location, staff lovely, and the our room was kindly upgraded. Unfortunately the breakfast was a shambles. Very understaffed, awful dining service, no cutlery, breakfast inedible and sent back.

United KingdomTrying to order taxi proved exceptionally difficult and ridiculously expensive. I requested a black taxi, which I was informed would not be a problem, however this proved to be the opposite. The hotel decided to order an ‘executive taxi’, which I certainly never requested. It came with a charge of £50 for less than a 5 mile journey. Also the taxi driver went the wrong way and tried to go down a road that was clearly marked ‘closed for road-works’. Not impressed at all! I would never pay £50 for a journey of that size. I managed to get a black taxi back in the exact opposite direction for £16! That says it all.
Location was perfect

United KingdomStruggle to find a negative but there was no water in the room when we arrived and never sure whether to drink the tap water in the big old buildings. I can’t think of anything else.
I’d booked the hotel stay for my last day of work before maternity leave but the baby came early so we rearranged the dates with the hotel and took the family. Rearranging and adding the kids on was no trouble at all. The hotel was quiet due to it being Easter so the breakfast freshly made but plentiful - much better than buffet style imo. The staff were exceptional and even left our 5 yr old an Easter egg in the room, she was delighted. It might seem a weird location for a family break in the ‘business area’ Canary Wharf but it actually worked out really well. Little ones are allowed to use the pool 8.30-10.30 and there were floats etc, then we went into town on the Thames Clipper which is right outside - an adventure in itself for the kids. Great stay, highly recommend.

United KingdomThe breakfast in the morning wasn’t the best - I also asked for gluten free toast that never came, drinks were a bit mixed up etc. However, none of this was enough to ruin our stay and we would definitely return to this hotel.
Great location for the O2 as we were close enough for walking to tube but also able to have a beautiful river Thames view over many of the London landmarks. Room was lovely and spacious and it was good sized bathroom. Bed was very comfortable!

United KingdomRooms had an empty feel about them and very antiquated decore. Was asked to sign a receipt at breakfast even though cost included which seemed unusual. No shops in the vicinity for amenities- up to half a mile away.
Large spacious room, huge bathroom, big riverside window with great view of the Thames and the Shard . Quality toiletries. Very polite staff especially at breakfast.

United KingdomIt's very dated, bland and beige, the breakfast was very average and at £26 per person is expensive for the quality received, tea and coffee 'facilities' was very basic, a small kettle with ONE sachet of cheap nescafe and we had to ask for it. Didn't feel anything was 5 star
Staff friendly and helpful. View over the river is stunning, even on a grey February day, room was spacious and clean, bed very comfortable and bathroom large, hot water properly hot!

United KingdomThe reason I didn’t give it 10/10 was only for two reasons. 1) as a disabled person in a wheelchair, the entrance comprises of two sets of double doors, there was no doorman (which was disappointing on arrival at a 5*) and to open the very heavy large door and then somehow keep it open while trying to open the second set of doors would have been impossible for me if I had not had a companion with me. 2) it is physically impossible to get into the disabled toilet on the ground floor (off reception)…. The turn into the door is a squeeze (around a pilar) even for an able bodied person, let alone a wheelchiar user and as such I think that toilet should not be allowed to be called disabled). There was another disabled toilet on the first floor which I was taken to, but it is a small one and there is a baby change table, that even with the help of a member of staff we could not manage to make it stay folded up (there wasn’t even a clasp). Also the door just has a hole where the lock should be (!) so I relied on the member of staff standing outside to stop anyone else come in. Not exactly a 5* experience!
This was a lovely hotel, the staff were exemplary, professional and very friendly and the location was great (just outside the wharf). The room (accessible) was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was almost empty when we stayed. The hotel doesn’t look over the Wharf so our view was over the roads nearby, but not unpleasant. Breakfast was very nice. The swimming pool isn’t owned by the hotel, but guests have access,. (Beware that children can only swim during very restricted hours).
