Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bed was incredibly soft and uncomfortable. No firmness to the mattress. It made for an uncomfortable 3 nights of sleep. No TV in the room, which was fine as we didn’t spend too much time in the room.
Location excellent, friendly staff, and decent facilities!

SwedenThe bed is just 120cm which is not a huge problem if you are travelling with someone and comfortable sleeping close to them. But should probably be mentioned in the description.
The location was immaculate! so close to everything London. Easy access to underground and bus! And the rooms where fairly cheap!

RomaniaThe window cannot be open all the way so it’s hard to ventilate the place. It’s also a weird smell in the room, especially the bathroom, it smells like mold so it was really uncomfortable. The water pressure is kinda bad too, we had to flush the toilet several times and the shower head was’t running the best.
The location was very good to get around london.

Kitchenette came in handy with a fridge and stove. Great common area downstairs with pool table and fussball. On site laundry facilities and gym to use as well. Close to tube station.

United StatesI don’t like that there wasn’t any luggage storage available. And there was no AC, so you have to keep the windows open. It could be very loud at night.
The location is ideal. Very close to the metro station. Lots of common area space.

NetherlandsWhat we did not like was the bed. The mattress was so uncomfortable that we couldn't sleep at all during our stay. It is so used and soft that you feel each metal string in your back.
The location was great and easy to reach from Heathrow Airport. Moreover, the room had everything we needed during the stay. I was also plesently surprised of how little noise we heard from the street.

AustraliaThe room was very warm, and the windows did not open much. The fan provided by reception helped but didn't fully solve the issue. The lifts are extremely slow to arrive and the hallway where you wait for them is very very hot. It was really difficult to flush our toilet - you had to press the button as hard as possible for about 20 seconds. We told reception about the problem, but they declined to move us to another room because they were able to get the toilet to flush eventually (through the 'press hard and hold' technique).
The location was good, and the room was quite spacious for the price. We didn't cook, but I appreciated that the room had plates, cutlery, and some basic equipment in case you want to self cater. I also liked that there were things you could hire like a gaming console or clothes steamer.

United StatesThe room was very hot being on the 14th floor. I wish the windows were able to be opened a little more to let fresh air in. Having to rent a fan seems excessive. My fridge was also very hot so I could not utilize it to store food. Mattress also felt more like a topper than an actual mattress.
The room was spacious enough for a solo traveler and it is close to many of the Aldgate stations.

ItalyWhat I liked less about the stay? For the price — around £50–60 per person, per night — it's not expensive by London standards, but considering the type of studio we had, it did feel a little bit on the high side. As for the room itself, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, and unfortunately both windows had issues closing properly. There was always a small gap left, which let in some drafts and quite a bit of noise. Our room also faced a street where, almost every morning, a glass collection truck would come by and make a lot of noise handling bottles — not ideal if you're a light sleeper. The bathroom was fine, no complaints there. But overall, the main downside was the lack of comfort and quiet at night, mostly due to the noise and the amount of light coming in through the windows.
Things I liked the most about the place? Definitely the location — it's very central. There are metro and bus stops extremely close by, so it's really convenient to reach pretty much anywhere in the city. The building itself is nice, clearly designed for students. When I stayed, there weren’t many people around, but you can tell it’s a student residence with shared spaces like a foosball table, cinema room, and other common areas. The staff was always kind and helpful, available to answer questions or solve any doubts I had. The overall style of the place is cozy and industrial. It was clean and had all the basic services you need — nothing fancy, but definitely enough for a comfortable stay.

CanadaIt's stupid accommodations so it's good and bad. You feel safe in the area and it's great for that, but just set your expectations as to what student accommodations mean.

JerseyNo where to sit down apart on the bed Large windows and doors look out to surrounding tall buildings so room is overlooked. I kept curtains closed most of the time. First night I was woken up by people talking in the corridor about 4-5am. Second night was windy so an empty can was rolling around on the terrace (4am) which I didn’t have the key to get out to. Called staff and they responded in good time. However, after that, the wind started to howl through the room. That made a lot of noise and the door rattling continuously so I couldn’t sleep.
