Just a personal comment, the bed was too hard for me.

Breakfast was excellent! 13 friends joined us (pre booked & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

The pub was advertised with creaky floorboards. but they were VERY creaky - no quiet trips to the bathroom during the night! We had trouble finding the switch for the landing light, which was very necessary as the room was up a short flight of stairs, very dark without a light.

The room was over the pub bar and near a roundabout, but the room was very quiet! Convenient location for us in Battle Excellent free car parking

Can't really think of anything except the shelf in the bathroom wasnt situated very well you couldn't hold your head over it when cleaning your teeth but that was a minor problem the shower was lovely if a little cosy .

The staff were very helpful and friendly did their upmost to help would definitely recommend this pub the food was lovely thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal .

I appreciate the cost would be higher but breakfast included would have been a nice option. Although some reviews mentioned the floor noises our room 2 was particularly bad and certainly can be heard by other guests, not sure what can be done about it though

ease of booking, pub atmosphere and the evening meal was superb and the breakfast terrific. Very local to the high street and the Abbey.

Tiny shower room. Hardly room to turn the taps. Hot tap, not hot barely dribbles water. Mattress poor. Only enough room for one bedside table. Noisy loo. Paper-thin walls. Is there anything left to criticise.

Couldn't open any of the blinds, and room was a bit cold initially.

Room was spacious and comfortable, loved the quirky furniture. Great modern bathroom. The staff were great, really friendly and helpful, and would recommend staying for the breakfast, it was fab!

The bath had a hand shower with no option to fix it above oneself so was a little awkward to use - property age & room layout might make such an improvement difficult. The room was adjacent to the road and secondary glazing worked well to reduce noise levels although removed the option to add ventilation. Luckily the temperature was low enough for this not to cause an issue.

Good central location with easy walk to town centre. Breakfast - although circa 1 hour delay between ordering and receiving the food, once received, it was of good quality and portion size. As the venue advertises breakfasts to the general public I would have preferred the room rate to include breakfast. The room size was good and included essentials, tea tray included fresh coffee and a cafeteria but no biscuits.

I came cycling from London, I needed a good meal and a nice place to stay after a long day and I wasn't disappointed, it was perfect after cycling more than 100km. Nicely decorated room. Very good food in the pub. Old historic house. Nice staff, helpful people. Walking distance from the Battle Abbey, good location.

The only issue i had was the lack of curtains at night. Due to streetlighting close to the hotel.

Nice large room with en suite bathroom. Bedding and towels of good quality and very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities provided were good.

It was a welcoming, cosy and pleasingly individual pub. We loved the eclectic mix of furniture and historic objects d’art scattered around. Staff were attentive. The menu was interesting and the food very good and a cut above the usual. We recommend the pub and would stay there again. We only had one night booked but our large, airy room would have been very comfortable for a longer stay. The pub was a short, pleasant walk from the centre of town and Battle Abbey.
