the hot tub outside was off the tent was closed, the pool areas and indoor jacuzzi were freezing then they closed all the facility’s that was the biggest reason we went there was for the facility’s, the main bar was closed I think because it was too cold and the main hotel is freezing usually like to get afternoon tea in the hotel use facilities but it’s was just too cold so we stayed in the lodge which was loverly and warm, downside there’s no Wi-Fi or reception in the lodge so kept having to come to main hotel.

the staff make the place there very helpful loverly ppl, can’t do enough to help! always smiling and welcoming…we were on our mini moon they upgraded us, made allowances for the dog.

The pool and jacuzzi were unusable as they were cold and waiting for parts. The parts are not coming until the new year. The older chef wasn't accommodating and would make me a sauce I requested. It sounded like he was a stickler for the rules and wouldn't make anything not on the menu. Also the new bar menu had mostly items which contained cheese which I can't eat.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Sharon in the bar and Karen in the restaurant stood out and couldn't do enough for you.

The room quality for the price of the nights stay was very average, if you’re looking for a nice hot tub stay this is okay - but there’s definitely better value for money elsewhere. They stated to provide robes and slippers - it was just robes. The cabin itself wasn’t very warm either it took all night to heat up- I’d maybe suggest if they know the cabins been booked for the night then warming it up prior to the guests checking in would make a huge difference.

The breakfast was actually decent and the lady serving breakfast was super friendly and polite. There was plenty of options for breakfast too.

The bedroom and some of the common areas were shabby. Stained carpets, plastic on the sofa in the bedroom was coming off - generally needs TLC/refurbishment. The room key was a nighmare - took numerous times before it would work and several visits to reception.

Very nice breakfast - cooked and cold buffet. Lots of wooded areas and grounds to explore around the hotel. Dining room has lovely views. Plenty of parking.

The food. I didn't enjoy the breakfast at all, so we decided not to have our dinner there or breakfast the next day. We went out for dinner and got something for light for breakfast. The pastry was delicious but not the main hot breakfast.

I loved the atmosphere, the staff are great and location is beautiful. I also enjoyed the character of the interior design very beautiful.

there are probably disabled facilities in designated cabins/rooms, but I was not in one. I found it difficult because both entrances had a high step/steps but there were no hand rails to help. the cabin roof was overhanging, just enough to send a cascade of rainwater right down the back of your head/neck.

cabin was warm and cosy and dining room was pleasant, service and breakfast was good. reception and check in was easy and quick. There was a reasonable charge of £15 for having a dog with you, and certainly plenty of space to exercise one.

The bar food was pretty poor. Not fresh and a bit undercooked. The breakfast buffet food and coffee was luke warm and had been there a bit too long by the time we'd booked in a 945am. The woodwork / decor in the cabin was pretty tired and needed some sprucing up. Smelled a bit damp inside, esp the bathroom.

Great woodland location. Enjoyed inclusive use of spa facilities. Staff were all friendly and there was a relaxed, happy atmosphere. Great that dogs are welcome. Catered for vegetarians / vegans, including alternative milks, vegan yoghurt and veggie sausages for breakfast on request.

We arrived and our room smelled mouldy! The shower cubicle was tiny and none too clean with a mouldy panel at the back! The room looked out onto the service areas with delivery access and cold storage containers. We asked to change our room and were given a chalet in the woodlands. The receptionist was very kind and this was done with no fuss. Much nicer! However, it would have been nice if someone had explained that they do not clean the rooms every day! We returned from our day out and the room had not been serviced! For the price paid (although I realise that we were upgraded to the chalet it was still not cheap!) I would have expected the beds to have been made and the bathroom cleaned! The Spa, although good was a little run down, the showers in the ladies changing rooms - one was not working and the other had black mould in the bottom! I understand that damp places are difficult to keep mould free, but it is possible! The outdoor hot tub was lovely but could have done with a cleaner area between the door and entry to the tub itself - a foot shower/bath would have been helpful! At breakfast the first morning, my cup had a dirty tea ring round it and had to be changed and on the second morning, the toaster broke down (small niggly things, I know, but...). All in all, the idea is wonderful, eco-chalets in the woods with lovely walks, a spa to relax in when you come back in the evenings. It is very quiet in the evenings and at least, Leeds Bradford airport do not have night flights, because one of the flight paths is right over the area, but nor are there too many flights during the day! Also, lights are on even during the day, the hot tubs in some of the chalets were on even if the chalet was empty. I know how much it costs to run these things - surely there is a saving to be made there somehow!

The area was very pretty, chalets laid out in the woodlands. The main hotel had rooms with a spa area and restaurant. The spa was good, sauna, steam room, pool and an outdoor hot tub which was great. Breakfast was buffet style with cooked additions, and good. We only had a bar meal of soup and roll on our last evening which was fine, so cannot comment on the restaurant meals. The staff were lovely, helpful and polite.
