Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe apartment was fantastic. It was so nice to arrive to such a lovely, clean, comfy apartment, we wish we could have stayed for longer. The apartment definitely exceeded our expectations and we would love to go back another time. Thank you Ruth for your brilliant hosting and for making our day off exceptional

Fantastic character property that was really well equipped and exceptionally clean. Very central location too.

United KingdomThe advert could have been more clear about the number of rooms and stairs - and the steepness of the stairs. I actually thought it was likely to be a studio flat from the advert - when in fact it was a very large one bedroom flat with huge kitchen and roomy bedroom and lounge.
Friendly contact, easy instructions. It was great having Ruth downstairs, it gave me a sense of security and care - and she was very helpful when I needed some assistance. It was warm and cosy, with every convenience including a great dishwasher and super power shower. It's nice having a no-shoes policy.

New ZealandWith the foggy, damp weather a clothes dryer in the apartment would be a huge benefit. One of us liked their bed, one didn't.
Second stay at this quirky apartment in historic mediaeval centre of Shepton Mallet. Well appointed and furnished, with nice rooms. Great to have a parking space reserved close by. Close to great cafes Cheeky Bean and Sweet 11.

United KingdomThe entrance to the property is through a courtyard with a lot of stairs and plants, so you need to be sure of your footing - not that easy in the dark. Duvet was a little too warm for my liking - but better that than too cold. It would be helpful to provide a map as to where the parking space is as well as the photos. I understand that their dog normally has the run of the courtyard, so you need to let the hosts know if that will be a problem (they were happy to keep it inside their house for our stay).
We happened to bump into the host as we arrived and she gave us a warm welcome. Not only tea and coffee provided, but also some fruit and very nice biscuits. Exceptionally clean property with a well-stocked kitchen. Interesting design. We are hoping to return for another visit.

The stay is nice and clean. Shoes are restricted and plants in the kitchen let you have a natural, warm and good feeling. All kitchen facilities are well equipped and clean. Tissue and shower are good. There’s a lot of flowers outside that I love them most.

United KingdomOnly minus point was the very steep stairs to the bed room. Also being opposite the pub and in the hot weather the windows open it got a little rowdy on the second night. However the landlord did move the people on, so not the fault of our host. quite a lot of stairs in this property so if you have mobility problems its not the place for you .
the apartment was clean, comfy and had all that was needed including a lovely fan which was most needed in this hot weather and the oasis of a patio was beautiful . The host is friendly, helpful and their two dogs very quiet and no problem. The position in Shepton Mallet town centre was fabulous for walking to the historic sites.

United KingdomWhat's not to like?
We liked the details that had been added to an already lovely apartment. Those extra touches like fruit and biscuits make the welcome more personal and we loved all the plants. The apartment is quirky in a good way and has everything you might want for a stay away from home.

United KingdomGreat central location. Clean, comfortable and welcoming apartment. Ruth was brilliant and went the extra mile making sure mum was comfy and everything was ok (I hadn't factored in the tight spiral staircase to the bedroom. Ruth kindly set up the sofa bed in the easier to access living room). Lovely welcoming additions of fruit, cookies and milk were waiting for us on arrival. Such a lovely apartment, I would have loved to stay longer than one night to really enjoy the comforts.

New ZealandUnfortunately the stairs . Whilst the stairs to the bedroom are pictured on the listing, you don’t appreciate how hard they are to negotiate with a suitcase until you try it. The bedroom is on the 3rd floor of a very old building in the Main Street.
Loved having the space of an apartment with a full kitchen, washing machine and lounge. It was warm and sunny and nicely decorated and has every thing you need. It is also quiet, but you have easy access to restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. Parking.
