Well age 71, last time I stayed in double bunks was in 1972. They don't improve with age. Coming and going of room mates was difficult, but I was the new boy. Now I have been tested I could do it better next time

The only improvements would be slightly better pillows and maybe a shelf/ dry space to store your things while you shower. I had to take a tote bag in and each time things got damp.

Perfect location, very easy to get to from the train station. Very clean bathrooms and bedlinen. Very secure and the staff were helpful. Shower water pressure was so strong!

The only real downside is that there’s no lockers in the rooms (or anywhere else as far as I could tell).

The location is obviously unbeatable, the staff was friendly, the room was nice and clean and didn’t feel crammed. Didn’t use the common areas much but they seemed nice.

When you are on a bunk bed, it moves when the other person moves. Not great if you are a light sleeper. But then again, it is a backpackers.

Many flights of stairs that were narrow and steep. I was expecting stairs but a bit difficult to navigate with luggage. The twin room was fine but only 1 outlet which made it challenging for charging phones and such. Overall, it was what I expected and provided economy lodging in the heart of Edinburgh.

It was close to everything and was easy to walk to different places. The staff were very friendly. Loved having access to laundry services.

Location lends itself to be noisy as this area operates well into the night. Which is fine if you're operating well into the night as well, but if you want to sleep when the people outside want to sing or collect the bins or empty bottles from all the bars, then it can get noisy. Showers are hot and great water pressure.

Location is excellent. You're basically in the middle of the bit of Edinburgh that all the tourism is based on and everything else is within 10 minutes walk.

Slightly amusing tiny door into tiny staircase to get up to the room, but it did not affect our overall enjoyment! Prices were higher than a usual backpackers but we did stay during the Edinburgh fringe so that was to be expected.

Amazing location right on the Royal Mile (we stayed in a private room with shared bathroom). Great amenities including bathroom and shared kitchen. Easy check in process. Nice room with big windows.

The bathrooms were quite small and very busy in the morning.

Great location and wonderful staff happy to help 24/7. Felt very secure and safe even in the city centre as main doors and bedroom need key card for access. Common rooms were a really good space too.

The hostel is super central and close to the train station, perfect for visiting Edinburgh and the staff was very helpful. The common kitchen and the common rooms were well-equipped, the bathrooms were in good conditions.

Lockers in the room required a separate padlock. It was quite noisy from the street at night.

Location was perfect, very nice and helpful staff, all facilities clean and well equipped (hairdryer, soap, hot water).

The beds were very noisy, every time the person on the bottom of the bunk bed moved everything moved and it made a very annoying noise. The door was also extremely noisy and it was impossible to close it without waking someone up. The bathroom was dirty.

The location is perfect, right in the city centre. Close to very nice shops and attractions. The staff was super nice and friendly, and my bedroom got upgraded for free and without request. The bathroom had deodorant, make up remover and other items.

The "private" bathroom was in the hall next to the room, and was used by other guests as well, so we woke up to a unflushed toilet with a dump in it. A bit inconvenient when we paid for a private bathroom.
