Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe carpet was dirty and made me feel like I should've brought indoor slippers to wear. The luggage storage room did not have a door and it was located in the lobby, which made me feel uneasy when leaving luggage there. As expected of London, the soundproofing was not good and you can hear everything from your neighbouring rooms (such as their phone vibrating with a new notification), but this didn't bother me as the neighbours were mostly quiet, just beware if you're a very light sleeper.
The location was amazing, close to both Paddington and an even closer tube station. The room was small but perfectly fine for a couple of nights, if you're only planning to sleep there. The air conditioning is nice. The staff were very friendly. The sheets were clean and the bed was soft. Considering the location in central London and the price, it was mostly what I expected, and could've been a lot worse.

CanadaThe leaky toilet, room was a little too small
It met our expectation because I knew for the price, it wasn't going to exceed expectations. We were looking for a comfortable place to sleep. The staff - were great. You can tell it's a family that owns it and they take pride in their place The room - the first room had a leak in the bathroom so they moved us right away. The 2nd room was better. Very cozy and quaint. The room was 2 twin beds as we requested. It was very small but typical for London, it suited our needs. The room was updated with fresh paint, new carpet and linens and new bathroom toilet/ shower. No issues at all with the internet. I'd probably stay here again because the staff were so great!

United KingdomShower is old fashioned and too big for the shower cabin. Wash room also too small.
Telephone number doesn't work. Room was a bit small but fine. clean linen. Location is fine with lot of shops around etc. Breakfast was never offered I think it's room only. The receptionist was very nice and helpful person. Taxi came to the door step. It's ok for a day or two I enjoyed.

United KingdomNot a major factor but because I was on the ground floor I could not open my blinds in the morning or people walking past would have been able to look in. The room could do with either some privacy glass or net curtains to allow light in. The pillows were a bit thin, but maybe that's a personal preference.
The room was very clean and looked very new. I was there for 4 nights and was very comfortable indeed. The staff was very polite and on arrival, I was shown to my room. Smart TV made it easy to relax and watch some films.

United KingdomThey were nice to give us a cot, for our 7 months old. And that is fantastic. But rooms were definitely not built to have an extra like this. And because we had a baby we realised that the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. By the time we realised that it was 4 in the morning and we could only put an extra baby blanket on her. But other than that, it was definitely doable and it was a very, very nice stay!
We were allocated to rooms on the new area of the Hotel. Everything was nice and clean. Good smell. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff was kind and showed us where our room was, as it could be a bit confusing first time reaching them. Promptly, on request during booking, they offered us a cot. 5 minutes walk from the underground (red : Central line) and right next to the hyde park
