How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Facilities. Too much noise from the outside of the room coming from I believe heating / air conditioning system. Way too loud The spa was very poor. It was definitely not at the level of the price charged by the hotel Steam room tiny, sauna super small

check in is late 2 pm with a checkout at 11 pm rooms are not airconditioned and the central heating makes it quite stuffy

There was an IT issue with card payments in Flo's so no food could be ordered.
I recently stayed at FoxHills with my family and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and great shower. The bar area was charming, with a cozy fireplace and delicious cocktails – the cosmopolitan was a hit! The Fox Restaurant provided excellent value for money with delicious food, accommodating dietary requests, and prioritising our child's meal. The facilities for families were fantastic, including pools, playgrounds, and a soft play area. I enjoyed playing golf on the Bernard Hunt course despite the wet weather. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and I look forward to returning!

Our only concern was that the soft play area was often getting overcrowded with older children posing risk for younger babies. Age restrictions should be applied!
The hotel was excellent for a 4-star accommodation. Staff were friendly and professional. The porter went over and above to be of assistance. The rooms were good and more importantly comfortable, with only negative being able to hear footsteps from the rooms above. The food in the restaurant and room service far exceeded expectations.

We booked a suite which was dated decor especially the bathroom not worth the money - the rooms need updating

There’s nothing I didn’t like.
We had a very comfortable stay. The hotel can go beyond to accommodate our needs. The room and bathroom were huge. Very happy with our stay.

The facilities, grounds and rooms were excellent. I travelled with my 5 year old son and we were made to feel welcome and fully at home. The pools were fantastic, and perfect for a few days in half term.

Requested an additional bed as we were a family of 4. The baby was given a travel cot which was fine but the foldable bed for our 10 year old was awful. The thin mattress provided little to no support as our son sank into the mattress and the metal frame dug into his back. We requested additional padding and were told that house-keeping had closed. Nonetheless a member of the team apologetically brought us a thin duvet in hope that it would improve the lack of mattress support. It sadly made little difference. My husband and I felt very guilty and didn't expect him to sleep in the foldable bed, so our son slept with us in the double. A real shame regarding the additional bed as it ruined the experience for our son. Unless better quality foldable beds are offered, it would be better not to offer one at all.
Staff were wonderful, caring and friendly at all times, room was just as shown in photos, very spacious, stylish and chic furniture, wonderful view out of window. (junior suite)

TV and shower were old and would have expected better for the price. Breakfast ordered on the last day didn't arrive after 40 minutes so we ended up walking out. This spoilt our final morning at the hotel.
The facilities were really good, Indoor and Outdoor Pool were great and Gym was big with plenty of up to date equipment. Food on site was good and great to have a place to watch sport. The room was big and had a nice view over the golf course.
