Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Romaniathe room did not have any windows and it felt kind of strange; the noise in the hallways was very loud in the room; the bed was very uncomfortable and it made noise when I turned from one side to another;
location is perfect, center of Manchester, close to cafes, grocery stores (one of them actually open 24 hours); children's playground close by, within a very short walking distance from the train station;

IrelandOur room for a five night stay was a bit small but we got on with it.
Location is amazing. So central and everything on your doorstep. The hotel was very quiet, no city / traffic noise at all. Breakfast was beautiful. Full English and the vegetarian option was excellent. A special shout out to Jay who was so attentive and great fun. Bath in the room was lovely.

United KingdomWe had a room overlooking the rear of property. A little noise from nearby and woken by work on an adjoining building very early.
Great location close to railway station and for easy access to the city centre. Staff always friendly and great breakfast. We have used the gardens several times over the years and it has never disappointed. Many thanks

United KingdomThe room wasn't the best quality but it was ok value for money. The shower didn't fit on the mount so ended up soaking the whole bathroom when used.
Good location in Manchester city centre. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomDidn't dislike anything but there could have been a bit more choice at the cold buffet for breakfast.
The location is very good being only a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly station. We had a nice comfortable room and the breakfast was adequate. Not much choice from the buffet table, ie no yoghurt or pastries.

United KingdomIn general the hotel room was very dated and not in the best of condition, the carpets near the edges were all torn and worn out. The furniture was old, dented and chipped and the bed itself wasn't comfortable. Two mattresses but together which is fine but one was a different height to the other. There was also a lot of building work right outside the window from 7am, no notice of this from the hotel staff and was a rude awakening.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room had all the basics you needed.

United KingdomThe corridors and lobby are very outdated and had an unpleasant smell, however some management of this would make it perfect.
The bed was really comfortable, and the hotel is in such a great location only 10 minutes from the train station.

United KingdomThe fire-alarm woke me up at 5.10am, on the 2nd morning of my stay, but it seemed to have been a false alarm !
Whilst booking, I requested a bath-tub. Quickly, I received a reply comfirming my request. Check-in went very well. There was a bath-tub in the ensuite bathroom. Staff were very helpful and dealt with plumbing problems efficiently. The bed was comfortable, with a deep mattress. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful on both days of my stay. The hotel was very clean. The location was great, being close to various forms of public transport, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues !

PolandUnfortunately the Wi-Fi was barely working - which was a major drawback for me as I came for a work trip - I needed to use my own cellular data to work in the evening. Additionally, one night there were some water problems (there wasn't hot water for one evening out of three that I've been there). Apart from that, no complaints :)
The localisation was perfect - close to a big park and near the city center. Breakfasts were tasty although there weren't that many options to choose from. The place overall was clean and had good vibes.

United Kingdom£148 a night for an executive room, with no aircon/heating. Only one working window to cool down the room after 2 heaters were left on, which then allowed in the noise of Piccadilly gardens on a Saturday night. There was a “master switch” in the room we weren’t warned about so when we used it to turn our bedside light off, we didn’t realise we had turned all of the lights off at the mains so had to use the shower/bathroom in the dark. Brought this to receptions attention and they basically said “you’ll know for next time”
Perfect location for a stay in Manchester. Bed was amazingly comfortable, room relatively clean and up to date. Tea and coffee making facilities provided and cold bottles of water were appreciated. We had a pleasant stay.
