The location is great. Lovely views over Scapa Flow. Seals and birdwatching from the windows. Walking distance to the Italian Chapel over the first Churchill Barrier. A nature reserve just on the edge of the village. Good buses. Good supermarkets not far away in Kirkwall.

We self catered kitchen was excellent could look out to see the seals spacious rooms for other guests there is nothing there so take you supplies with you or drive into Tesco wonderful

There is a local shop, which is useful, BUT as we arrived late afternoon (after 2pm) there was nowhere to buy food or even a pint of milk. I was very surprised that given the location and scarcity of places to buy anything that there was no milk in the fridge! Our hosts had thought of everything: tea, coffee, sugar, even biscuits and some fudge, :-) but the essential to make a drink was missing. Having travelled up from the south of England, Isle of Wight, we didn't then want to get another taxi to get to a shop for milk. With our travel baggage on the way in there wasn't really room for essential food as well. It does say the shop closes at 2pm., in the blurb. Maybe a facility for guests to order/pay for immediate essentials would be an excellent addition to their services. Maybe Tesco deliver there too! With long distance travel, planes and ferries, no-one can be sure of arrival times. Just a thought, but having got over that, everything else was wonderful. Locals are very friendly too.

Self catering. Plenty of space. Quiet Location, On a bus route. Taxis easy to use. Weather was excellent, a bonus no-one can book!

one of the energy efficiency features is that there is no hot water after around 7 pm, so plan your shower or bath early.

Beautiful location right on the firth; with space to relax, do laundrey, recharge. Clean and comfortable, stocked with everything one might need, and in a lovely spot to access all of Orkney. The house is impressive construction, very energy efficient and the hosts make it easy to recycle. Ample parking in back makes loading and unloading easy.

Location, size of cottage, access to everything we needed. Malcolm, Teresa, and Emily were perfect hosts. Nice, friendly, and very helpful. They were so kind, and welcoming. You don't get care and attention like this at all locations. Highly recommended.

The home was very comfortable and well appointed. We very much enjoyed the game of monopoly on one rainy afternoon. The wall heating units worked great. The location was wonderful also. Orkney is not big but we were able to get around to everywhere we wanted easily. Hosts were easy to reach and very responsive.

Property is cleanly painted, but the furniture could be better. Needs modernising. No tumble dryer just a washing machine, and after washing, clothes stayed wet for more than two days.

Great location, great views. Perfect kitchen. Right in the centre of Orkney so great for travelling around. Close to the Italian Chapel.

The only thing it lacked was an ice tray for G&Ts. But there is now, as we bought two.

Wonderful quiet location overlooking the bay with sailing boats & seals. Excellent on site parking & large safe private garden.

Communications with the owners before arrival via booking.coms e-mails didn't work and my returne-mails were not able to be delivered ,but communication via booking.coms website did work. This was of some concern before the holiday.The only minor problem during the stay was no background heating in the bathroom to dry towels.A big heated towel rail would have solved this problem.

The location was excellent,both for the very good view from the property but also for travelling around Orkney.It was also useful to have a shop a few metres away.
