Grange Lodge was perfect for me - homely and welcoming, spotlessly clean and comfortable, lovely helpful, friendly staff. On a main bus route but walkable downhill into town. Good choice of well cooked traditional pub meals available in the bar. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I think that the rooms at the very front of the hotel would be noisy as it faces a busy local road.

Exceptional staff, helpful, friendly, they could not have done more to help the stay go without a hitch. We were travelling for work and had our travel plans completely ruined by Condor Ferry's in Poole, we eventually arrived at the hotel at 0400hrs, 20hours after we should have arrived. The room keys were available and we were able to get into our rooms, absolutely no problems from the staff. Food was very good and at a decent price, very good portions and good quality ingredients, so good that we didn't look to eat anywhere else at night. The rooms were large and well maintained by the staff on a daily basis, my room was very quiet. I recommend this hotel, we have already booked in for the next 2 visits.

Its a bit of a labyrinth, as with other older Guernsey hotels.

Gluten free options at breakfast always welcome here. On this occasion I had a large double room at the front which was very light and spacious, albeit with some inevitable road noise. The staff are very welcoming and I'm already booked to return.

Well situated but sometimes difficult to get off the drive with traffic. Patient drivers were helpful. We had a family room which was ideal. Enjoyed by all.

The very large garden is a bit of a shambles. It rather spoiled the feeling of quality. Some parts of the extensive property need cheering up. The front entrance is particularly shabby. There is no second chance for a first impression. The close proximity of the road is probably the culprit. Also, the cheap gravel front parking area gives a very bad impression. You would probably drive on by.

Bar at night has a good atmosphere, but it's advisable to make a reservation, we didn't and therefore would have had to wait some time. We actually didn't eat in the end, having had a snack earlier.

If you are without a car, the hotel is a short walk to the centre of town (which although is not far, the streets of St Peter port are steep)

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful making our stay at the hotel a great experience. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice.
