We stayed here 4 nights in a private double room . It's very complicated to find disadvantages. Actually everything was great , central location , clean , not noisy at all. The only thing I can note , it 's a pretty small bed . For two people it was not enough space .

Arrive late no one to answer door, and no clear signage that I was to check in upstairs hotel/hostel that had reception desk. Had no data and was unable to obtain door keypad code to access hostel or hotel/hostel upstairs to get into reception- did not have the hostel wifi password at this time. USB port was broken on first bed chosen. Locker door fell off hinges on second night.

Location of the hostel was good. Staff where very helpful. Breakfast voucher was very nice touch, food tasted good - limited options/portion. Very clean bedding/bathrooms.

It was quiet, the room was spacious, the bathrooms were very clean, and the whole place overall was really clean. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is solo travelling or anyone that is travelling on a budget. It's wonderful for the price and the location is very central.

No elevator and I had a lot of luggage. Thankfully the staff helped me carry it up.

Probably the best hostel I stayed at. Staff were super pleasant and helpful. Great location so close to everything and felt like home.

Tend to wake up early because of light and noise coming through window, not a problem for me but others might not appreciate it. Could do with blackout blinds.

Was a bit difficult to find and the street looks a bit dodgy (never felt unsafe though), once inside was modern and clean.

Very central in the city, was really clean, staff were all lovely and helpful. Was able to have a female only room which I appreciated. Cactus cafe was great and good value!

Couldn't close window and there was a pigeon making noise outside the window. If we could close the window we wouldn't have heard the noise, woke up at 7 am because of that. 2 of the showers didn't work

There is a serious amount of stairs to climb to get to the hostel. Staircase is a circular one, so I had a lot of trouble getting my luggage up there. Kitchen is not very well equipped. The bunk bed on which I slept was very hard and I had trouble sleeping. Additionally, the room's window led to some alley; there were loud noises of businesses getting out their trash that woke me up more than once.

This is very well located. I booked a bed in a shared room and everyone was nice and tidy. The breakfast vouchers they have for sale are good value for money. Staff is friendly.

The room could be a little spacious but everything else was just perfect, we would definitely stay here again.

Great locality just a few minutes walk to the city center, with really caring and helpful staff, perfect information before arrival and during our stay, super clean room and shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Perfect for a few days stay in the heart of Edinburgh.

The spiral stairs are very difficult to manage with luggage. Fortunately kind staff and other guests are very helpful.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Being able to store luggage whilst on a tour is a great help. Thank you staff. The hostel attracts a nice quality of guests. The kitchen and bathrooms are kept very clean. The area is so convenient for the Bus Station, The Airport Bus 100 and many interesting attractions.

Lovely staff! Super helpful and friendly. Check in was really easy. I was able to access my room before 3pm which was great and I was able to work remotely from the kitchen.

I don't quite understand why it was always male staff changing the sheets in the female dorms? Especially given that at least 4/6 staff around were female. Didn't bother me too much but seemed a bit weird and worth mentioning.

The location was incredible, very central but also high enough in the building to not be too noisy late at night. Great lockers in the 12 bed dorm (much prefer the built in style to the caged ones) and the curtains were good for privacy and blocking out the room light if you have an earlier start. Good kitchen facilities.

The walls are very thin, so you can hear everything. We were there two nights, on one night everyone respected the others. On the Friday night there was a lot of noise until 2 am. Something that was inconvenient for us, due to our early morning flight.

The location is fantastic. The facilities are super clean and the room is spacious.

Toilet facilities dated but functioned. Shower facilities had some faults (some were broken, went hot and cold), big shower was fantastic though. Staff were helpful, friendly and easy going but had to search for them, never anyone on the desk

Stayed in 6 bed female dorm. Beds super comfy. All facilities were very clean and very high standard. Amazing city centre location, great for train and airport transfer transport. Exceeded expectations

The staff weren't really present or accessible as they are also responsible for the hostel on the floor above which was a little strange and in the female only dorm there weren't really bed hangings from privacy.

The location was wonderful for wandering the city, right next to the train station and central to miles end. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm (important during winter). The bathroom was small but clean.

Maybe to many persons inside 1 room. (12) Floor doing a bit noise even if you try to keep the silent.

Super near the station and historic center. Female room super ok. WCs showers super ok. I've broke my locker and the hostel help me open it, super nice. Food recommendations ans tours info.
