Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Staff are lovely & have great customer service, food is really nice & well priced and the rooms are spectacular! Very happy we stayed here and will be back again in the future

The staff didn’t understand gluten free when I asked for breakfast I had contacted and was told there was a gluten free menu that did not exist

Did find hair's on arrival in the bathroom which was disappointing as the place is clean throughout the building. But nobody came back to us the next day to explain anything about it. Selection on the mains is limited not much choice.

Location is great an the building is lovely, Chester on the doorstep is great. Good selection of drinks. Lovely walks nearby

Have stayed here many times. Shower pressure is woefully low. I’m surprised it hasn’t been fixed yet.

Only note, we were located not far from the main public pub toilets. There is a guest access door that is sound proofed, barely any noise passes, but you can hear electric hand dryers going coming through the walls. Dull me, reckon they are the Dyson type as short blast and not on a timer. Now in a time gone by I wouldn't hear this as I'd be in the bar til last orders with a late bedtime. But being in bed at 7, browsing the phone opens a new world. Not overly noisy but being a room closer could of been problematic with a little one.

Our first overnight "hotel" stay with our 3 year old, usually Airbnb but a zoo trip was late planning and booked this last minute with minimal baggage required. Check in was a breeze, The room was warm, well prepped and clean. Big proportions so plenty of room (room 2). Evening meal was lovely, then turned in at 6:30, in bed by 7 (rock N roll). Beds were comfy and to say it was early when we went up, next to no noise from the pub/dining room below. Breakfast was varied with all the usual cereal and hot cooked on offer. My son fancied cheese for some reason after his cereal and toast. The very helpful young man made every effort to accommodate and brought him some cheese, perfect. 12 I clock checkout worked well, took advantage of a stroll on the canal. We had planned for a Sunday roast before leaving but a filling breakfast left no room or appetite. Will be back on the next zoo trip.

High cobwebs but didn’t effect our stay in the slightest it sent my daughter on a hunt for spiders lol

The service from staff, the night porter was extremely helpful and polite. The room was modern and up to date and well stocked with essentials. The room was spacious and the right type of layout for a sofa bed and double in one room. Everywhere was clean and house keeping tidied for us the inn was not noisy considering it was a Saturday and Sunday night stay we was located above the bar and couldn’t hear any noise, not to far away from the amenities that we required.. was a bit dubious about staying in a inn but it was a better stay than a hotel and better service than I’ve ever been given in any hotel, I will defiantly stay again for that location, the price was kind to me and I’d like to say a big Thankyou to the night porter as he didn’t know my daughter has autism and he was kind without having to explain my daughters needs to much. Very understanding Thankyou to all

Only thing we could have benefitted from was a fridge in the room to store some milk but staff were happy to work around it a different way so it wasn’t a negative as such!

It was a great sized family room for a reasonable price. The food looked fantastic, if we weren’t visiting family we would have dined in!

The room had everything you could need, an ensuite, a TV (though it didn’t have all the channels I wanted), a kettle and was comfortably warm. The breakfast was excellent and was very reasonably priced.

The TV did not work. The breakfast took a long time to be served once ordered which is not good when children are waiting. We then felt rushed to finish.

The rooms were very cosy and impeccably clean. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. The staff were quiet but polite. The food was delicious.
