We were put in a small room the first night but after complaining, were moved to a bigger room, both have mini wash basins though.There is no elevator and the stairs to the second floor was rather steep. There is no aircon and the window opening is very restricted.

The staff were friendly. Location was excellent as the train station and bus-stop were within walking distance. Breakfast was super.

It's a bit mean to be critical at this price, but to be perfect, perhaps air con, fully operating windows and eliminating creaking doors and floor boards. But it is still much better value than most of the competition as it is.

All was great. In my opinion bed a tad hard, but thats a minor one.

VEey clean and nice room, great TV, very clean bathroom and everything needed. I was very impressed, especially at the costs.

Bed was too small being only 4'6" wide and also it was very hard. Pillows pretty flat. Weather was cold and there were no extra blankets or pillows in the room - we had to ask for both and they were provided so our second night was much warmer. Our room was a bit cramped and it was two floors up with no lift. The second flight of stairs was very steep. I asked for a room on the first floor but was told there were none available.

Staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were good and substantial. Location was perfect for us. Parking was a bonus which made life a lot easier. Room was clean and I appreciated the tea making facilities. Not expensive.

It is over priced ,as is the food in the restaurant . It is not a hotel nor a stand alone restaurant and their prices should reflect this .

The check in / check out procedure isn’t made obvious. We had no idea where to check in because there was no obvious signage until we had gone into the restaurant itself. When checking out there was no staff around and we had to get to work so couldn’t hang about in case someone did turn up so just had to leave the key on the front desk.

The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfy.

The room was big and spacious, the bed was also very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities always a bonus too.

We inadvertently left my son’s expensive iPad charger in room 104. I called the property the day after we got home & left a voicemail &contacted the hotel company through bookings.com, who said they passed on my information to the hotel manager, I waited a few more days& called the hotel again to ask if the charger had been found. I was told they needed to contact housekeeping & will call me back. I have had no contact back about our missing charger, which I can only assume has now been stolen. As shareholders we are disappointed with the lack of communication & disregard shown to our enquiry. Our pillows were not very comfortable. Our hand towels in the bathroom were starting to become threadbare & had some holes in them. I personally did not like how dark the room decor was, but I think it’s in keeping with the decor of the restaurant downstairs. It felt a little dreary& dated.

The beds were very comfortable, even the sofa bed that my four year old slept in, sofa beds tend to be very uncomfortable, but I fell asleep in this one. The family room was big & I liked the big window to look out of . Bathroom was very clean & water pressure great & hot. I liked the B&W photos in the room. Happy with the complementary tea& coffee. We ate at the restaurant in the evening & Amber who served us was amazing as well as the food. We had the breakfast in the morning & that was cooked to perfection. Everything we asked for was catered to our requirements. My mom was gluten intolerant & our server in the morning made sure she had the right food as well as all my four year old requesting sausages,coco pops & yogurt only for breakfast .
