Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast area was dirty and some women were wondering around it touching and picking up food with their bear hands which was a bit off putting. The hot tap didn't work so i couldn't turn it on to use it. it took me 10mins to figure out how to turn the shower on. Eggs took a long time to come when ordering them.

United KingdomCovid & present situation accepted! Minor point - new shower appreciated, but very difficult to set-up, eg large volume of water wasted in reaching required temp. Then running cold! Presumably, another room using said! Fan didn’t work in bathroom. Couldn’t open window.
Location excellent. Didn’t have breakfast - very expensive!

United KingdomThe only problem was the House keeping as we didn't realise you had to put Towels outside door for clean ones and Bins were not emptied!
Staff were very helpful, friendly especially when we checked in as the room we originally booked was too far away from the lift, as my Mother has Mobility problems, another room was offered, even though we paid for Superior Room we took the room offered! We would stay again

United KingdomThe hotel external spaces are very tarmac dominated, and could do with investment in tidying up and landscaping.
The bar and breakfast room on the ground floor are very nicely designed and were good to be in. I spent a relaxing time at the bar at 11pm ! Friendly barman and staff we met. The room was clean and spacious, with an en suite with bath (shower in bath) and wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel has a lift, so access with suitcases was no probem. Breakfast was a buffet style English with coffee and tea from a machine. Quality was fine. Location was good for us-- 10 minutes from M6 motorway, with car park of hotel adjacent. Crewe town is just beyond the Crewe railway station --we had a walk round in the evening.

United KingdomSo many stairs and we couldn’t find our room! We went up and down so many flights and through so many doors with quite a bit of luggage and in the end had to go back down to get someone to show us, we would never have found it once we were shown.

United KingdomArriving into the bedroom my first move in the dark whilst seeking the light switch brought my right leg into violent collision with a badly placed old armchair.....beware badly placed furniture. Despite many an upgrade to the hotel, funding or other restrictions have prevented the introduction of lifts....lots of stairs and poor signage add to the woes of travellers with luggage and access requests for ground floor rooms are recommended . My apologies to anyone in the bedroom beneath mine on the second floor as creaking floorboards may have disturbed your sleep.,
For a traveller using rail this hotel is ideally situated very close to Crewe railway station. It is a very old 'railway 'hotel that has been upgraded many times over the years. and caters well for a transitory guest base. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the basic requirements for a one night ,arrive late, leave early were well met. I did not take advantage of the catering.

Mirror was filthy..strange when you're told the rooms are deep cleaned. Receptionist almost sighed when asked to call us a taxi..breakfast is ridiculously overpriced.
Bed was really comfy..shower was powerful..fan was useful as not a lot of fresh air able to get in the room.. plenty of. Ice big towels!
