The hotel was very retro but nice needs quite a lot of updating then would be perfect, price was good for level of standard close to the hospital staff very helpful, evening meal time to late could do with starting earlier. Hospital transport would be a bonus :-)

Parking a LWB van is an issue for management. Being 4ft longer than a basic transit they wanted an extra £10 to park within the front car park or free if you parked in an unlit and insecure upper area. Considering trades people stay over at hundreds of hotels have thousands of £'s of gear in them, i think some / most would rather stay somewhere else. Bit short sighted or delusions of grandeur. Nice place and having spent over £300 on rooms, bar and restaurant.... could do away with that.

Unusual and quirky place on the lake. Well presented and clean. Little Italian receptionist was lovely. Breakfast great. Comfy room and shower was a beast...

They should think about putting on breakfast earlier then 8am at weekends when the country club next door have events happening. The only other downside was that they need to give you more towels in the room. They were provided when I asked, but they should just be there.

I think this hotel has an unfair rating for what it is. We stayed here for a dance comp and my experience was that it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was decent. The decor is dated and it could be amazing if the pool was there. The outside area next to the lake is lovely and well maintained. The flower boxes full of daffodils were lovely. The shower was very powerful and hot.

Shame all rooms have shower over the bath. Breakfast items cooked too early. Never any fruit. Orange juice is disgusting! Occasionally there are pastries.

It was fine for the money.... can't really complain about anything.

Great location. Lovely hotel and if lake view even better. Rooms new clean and nice. Outside dated but nice surprise going inside. Not bad at all for the money.

The free WiFi was a bit "patchy" with the stream time in the room where the FAMUS course was located. This lead to some IT issues with the teaching. I don't know if the presenters had paid for whatever benefits the Paid WiFi afforded, but I personally noted slower load times and loss of connection while in the room with my device. The presentation room also became very warm on the 24th January when the sun came out.

The facilities were very clean. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was also very nice - the only thing that might improve is an upgrade on the shower head.

We had to move rooms a couple of times for various reasons but the hotel staff were very good at sorting this out. Our meals in the restaurant did not get off to a good start unfortunately as one meal had to be sent back to the kitchen as the chicken was very undercooked.

The very warm welcome from the receptionist, Dee Dee. All other staff were very polite and helpful during our stay in all areas and nothing was to much trouble.

On a previous stay we deliberately asked if the restaurant was going to be open as we were inviting guests. Having been told it was we expected there to be no problem. On arrival we had to rearrange matters as the restaurant was indeed closed and that meant a number of changes had to be made. Now, we never have a meal at the restaurant which would be much easier but do not wish to be put in a difficult situation ever again.

Front of plug socket would fall out of wall when something is plugged in. Also all facilities were shut apparently they've not opened since lock down however for the proce expected more. The hotel is old fashioned and unique with a nice veiw of the lake.

There was what looked like blood stains on my daughters bed covers...we arrived back at the hotel late from a party near by and she saw it and freaked out so we had to mess about with changing it down at reception at stupid o'clock in the morning. The staff were clearly night staff and had no idea what to do until we suggested getting a clean set out of another unused room. Breakfast wasn't included on my room but was for the other parties we went with. And most of the trays were empty and we had to wait ages for Eggs, beans, hash browns etc and then we only got a short time to eat it before the waiter came over and said they were packing up and making it obvious for us to leave.

The hotel is lovely with great character...it was very quiet as only saw 2 other guests but location was nice and the view of the lake was nice.

I tried to get invoice on checkout but there was no one on reception. I waited but no one came. After requesting I received invoice through email.

Excellent lakeside views, good WiFi, warm and spacious room. Excellent breakfast. The staircase has wonderful decoration. Definitely recommend.
