Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe floor in the bedroom was dirty with a mess laying there. I wanted to do yoga next morning before check out but couldn't touch the floor how dirty and dusty it was. Definitely not something I would expect to pay £115 per night. The room door was hard to close and the bathroom door was squeaky. There was no hairdryer in the room. Only two hangers for clothes.
We did like the location. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, just a few minutes walking from the train station.

United KingdomBarely adequate. It has had better times currently run down. I was the only one in the bar. Room 1, bed spongy and creaked. There was a notice about the extremely Loud music at the weekend from the club. The club closed a long time ago, yet still the sign stays. Poor value for money.
Location. Availability. Poor value for money.

United KingdomThat our friends booked at the same time and were £130 for 2 nights and we were £100 for one night! There was no mirror beside a socket so getting ready was very stressful as I had a wedding to go to and needed to do my hair! The shower was mouldy and there was no ironing board or towels in the room. We had to ask for both and there was only one iron for the hole place. Taking a £60 damage dept is ridiculous we are not vandals.

United KingdomPrice is rather high for level of accommodation. Room itself was fine. Rest of hotel bit battered. No information at booking or website to say hotel does not offer breakfast or that a damage fee of £60is expected on check in (it is refundable but this should be highlighted as it confuses people). The hotel is more of a bar with rooms. Not too noisy fortunately.
Handy location - close to station and attractions staff were friendly and helpful..

United KingdomThe main thing I was a bit taken aback by was when I first arrived I was informed there was no hot water for the duration of my stay, not the end of the world but not the most comfortable or pleasant experience having to just have a cold wash at the sink. The barman was apologetic and did offer me a free drink for the inconvenience but I can’t see anyone else who was staying longer than one night being very happy with this. Some other aspects that would make the rooms more pleasant would be : More attention to detail in terms of housekeeping (windows, shelving, inside drawers etc) A going over of the chipped paint would go a long way to not make it look for lack of a better word, “scruffy” or “not doing the renovations justice” There was no hairdryer in the room for even when there is hot water. There was no mattress or pillow protectors on the bed and both were stained.
The rooms had just been renovated which made a big difference to my overall experience with the rest of the hotel. Having said this a couple of things could make the room I was in more homely… Perhaps a full length mirror A second bedside for when more than one guest is staying in the room, as well as an extra plug socket installed where possible.

United KingdomQuite frankly: when we booked the room, we didn't know it was going to be a noisy venue. From what I saw on the hotel page here on Booking.com, the only warning about that is in one of the many pictures of the property, which it escaped us when we booked. This is really not a serious and decent way of presenting such important information. You should keep the picture with the warning, but you should also add that information in bold and clearly visible in the written information provided about the property. I cannot avoid to consider the current practice a tourist trap. The double ensuit room was a bit too narrow, and that double bed would be considered a single bed in most hotels. Depending on people's size, I don't think all couples with easily fit and sleep in that bed.
Really well located, just a few minutes from train station and with a bus stop really nearby. The room was tiny for what we paid, but the bathroom certainly made up for it: it was very good, well-lit, and with an excellent shower.

United KingdomSo, they have a nightclub on weekends. To be fair, the woman warned me on check-in, but I thought, I can handle it - how bad can it be? Well, when the DJ started at midnight I felt like my bed was in the nightclub - my entire room was vibrating from the bass, it was so loud. There is zero soundproofing insulation. They finished about 3am. I'd say don't bother on a weekend, but I'm sure it's fine any other night. Oh also, no WiFi.

United KingdomPictures of Reception and the bar area must have been taken many years ago as the paint was well worn and scraped off all over and even up the stairs the handrail was horrible to touch. We had been put in one of the "newly refurbished" rooms, but the wardrobe paint work had stains on it. The paintwork on the walls had chip Marks out of it and the corners of the shower unit had dirt wedged in them.
Staff were really pleasant and the location was ideal. We sampled one meal, in the bar as the adjoining restaurant was closed and it was tasty. The bed was comfortable.
