Our room was at the top of the stairs where most people passed so our dog heard all the noises on the landing. The bedroom door was badly fitted so that would not have helped. We should have had a room more out the way. We only had a double bed so took getting used to. The standard of room cleanliness was generally poor and we should have complained but we did have clean towels daily.

The location was superb. The reception staff and food service was great. Pity we missed out on the pool opening and entertainment - if we had booked a week later it would have been better.

The room was a bit crammed and not enough cupboard space.

Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing views, access to grounds and swimming pool of the 4* sister hotel next door.

Only slight bit of feedback that we thought of (and it's very minor feedback - we still loved the room anyway :D) is it might be worth seeing if a foam mattress topper could be put on top when the singles are put together to form the king bed, as otherwise it doesn't feel like you're sleeping in a king bed when putting 2 single mattresses together. We realised the singles would be put together on booking and went for the room anyway as we loved the look of the rest of the room. We still slept well and the mattresses were comfortable to sleep on, so we decided to make the best of what we had during our stay and did not ask for anything to go on top of the mattress. But otherwise no negatives at all, we loved the place, location and staff were fantastic. Thank you so much for everything, we had an amazing time.

Honeymoon paradise! We escaped here for a few days after getting married and loved staying here. Staff were so helpful and kind - nothing was any trouble for them, from providing us with a couple of glasses to enjoy our friends' gift of champagne and a knife and plates for eating leftover wedding cake in our room, to helping us dispose of my wedding flowers when they eventually wilted. Breakfast was excellent, enjoyed the pastries and yoghurts as well as the cooked breakfast offerings too (we loved the pancakes with blueberries most). The location was lovely and peaceful and we enjoyed the sea view. Due to erosion of the coastal path from the hotel to the beach, we were provided on check in with free access to Shanklin chine around the corner to get to the beach instead, which is beautiful both in the day and evening when lit up and well worth a visit. Housekeeping was great during our stay too, very clean and we appreciated the shampoo and shower gel being replenished during our stay. The hotel is really dog friendly so we will recommend it to our family and friends - we don't have a dog but at no point did we feel uncomfortable and the hotel is kept really clean. It has the perfect balance where clean dog towels are available after walks and there is a separate area for dog owners to eat their own breakfast with their dog, who gets treated to sausages. It was also really handy to see on a screen where the good dog walks were on the island. Hotel also has lovely period features in the hallway and breakfast area, with a beautiful view overlooking the sea while eating breakfast. After all the stress of organising our wedding, this break was just what we needed and I felt like I was in heaven eating breakfast watching the sunlight shine on the sea. I didn't get a photo of the lobby, but have instead attached a photo of part of the breakfast room so you can see some of the beautiful period features in the communal areas of the hotel.

We were happy with our stay

This is a lovely hotel overlooking the sea and close to the old part of Shanklin. Beautiful views from the breakfast area - and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic! Helpful staff and clean rooms made for a lovely long weekend stay. This is clearly a dog-friendly hotel but this was not intrusive for us (who did not have a dog)

Our room was next to the linen cupboard so it was a little noisy in the mornings but we aren’t early risers! Also the shower over the bath was a bit old and you couldn’t move the shower head. The indoor pool at the next door hotel we were allowed to use was small and packed with kids! You couldn’t swim for fitness if that’s what you are expecting.

Very friendly staff, fantastic breakfast, beautiful grounds and location. We were able to use the indoor swimming pool of the next door sister hotel. It was quiet and comfortable and the lounge area was a nice place to relax. We were given free access to Shanklin Chine and everywhere was good proximity to the hotel.

Sadly the access to the beach was closed.

As a dog welcome hotel it excels! All the staff fuss over the dogs, Molly the Collie got very special treatment which she did not mind at all, lots of belly rubs! Breakfast is excellent and includes a free sausage for your pooch. Very nice place and would revisit.

Lovely hotel on the cliff top with uninterrupted views over the sea. Ample parking, delightful reception staff, clean, warm and tidy bedroom with ensuite bath room with shower over bath. Delicious and plentiful breakfast with ample choice to suit all tastes. Easy walk into the old village in less than 10 minutes. We did not stay as long as intended but will definitely return for another stay and would recommend to friends and family.
