This hotel.is being upgraded but dont be put off staying yes some rooms,communal areas are tired but listening to staff the plans are huge they already have upgraded the gym also the pool/ spa are nearly finished. Our only gripe was no outdoor seating as the weather was hot & sunny this has to be a must BOSSES TAKE NOTE.

We have stayed here numerous times it doesnt dissapoint.The staff give you a friendly welcome our room was huge with 4 poster the views were stunning.Had a lovely meal in the evening followed by a drink at the bar again the staff were fab.In the morning we walked down to the stunning dining room for a lovely buffet breakfast with breathtaking views.Before leaving we had a wander round the beautiful gardens.

Was cold in the corridor to our room but think this was just due to renovations going on and also the Wedding breakfast was a bit chaotic

Rooms were a little tired. Pillows on bed were too large and uncomfortable. TV in one of the rooms did not work and spent quite some time waiting for it to reboot. Breakfast seemed to be in a different room from other guests and table was wobbly.

The room was very hot and this affected my sleep. Also the bed was quite springy and unsupportive at the edges. I prefer a harder matress where possible. Otherwise the room was fantastic.

The dinner was excellent. Very high quality for every dish and especially at the price (market menu)

The interior was shabby - the room was clean but the bathroom ceiling was full of damp. The heating was overbearing and couldn’t be turned down.

We were advised that the hotel has been bought over so there will be renovations in place and ongoing. The room decoration whilst appropriate for the age of the building, needed re-done in places as the paper is coming off the wall.

Arrived to a beautiful large bedroom with window overlooking the golf course, sitting area and the comfiest bed. There was a huge bathroom (bath and large separate walk in shower) all extremely clean and lovely toiletries provided. Staff were super friendly and most helpful and it was rather quiet when we stayed so plenty of seating choice in the large hall.

No Sky TV or TV in the bar, missed a great night's football. If they're keen to attract groups of golfers and keep them entertained in the hotel, then I think this is a must have.

The food was exceptional we had steak for dinner it was fabulous and eggs benidict was also excellent at breakfast . also the bread and butter we had with dinner was so good . All the staff were very friendly and attentive and professional. The food and the staff really made our stay brilliant .the bed was big and very comfortable had a great night's sleep

Currently undergoing renovations, however that did not impact my stay. There was also a fire alarm around 8pm and we all had to briefly evacuate, but I actually didn't mind it! It felt like a was in an Agatha Christie novel.

The staff is exceptional! Beautiful property off the beaten path with beautiful scenery and lovely views. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique and memorable stay.
