How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A couple of skirting boards were hanging off and in one of the bedrooms there wasn’t a bedside table with the lamp right next to the bed, but that was only if I was being really picky! Definitely going to return here again!
The location was amazing and perfect for what we wanted. Both gun wharf and the dockyard are so close so ideal if you’re visiting those. The hosts left bread, milk, butter & even jam in the fridge, which was perfect for us to make breakfast and put the kettle on and have a cuppa. Towels were provided, which was an absolute bonus, easy parking and the beds were both clean and comfy.

No instruction manual for oven/microwave or other appliances.
Comfiest bed ever, under-floor heating, location was terrific, really helpful owners when we had queries.

Nothing. It exceeded expectations. The only thing to note is that the stairs are very steep. They weren’t a problem for us.
Location. Lots of extras. Comfy beds. It was very warm, in fact too warm (30degrees!) but that was easily remedied once we found the various thermostats.

Beautiful property, the shower was amazing. Loved the underfloor heating. Parking bay very useful, close to all amenities. Our daughter loved it. Only issue was the remote control for the TV upstairs wasn't working.

It was a bit scary coming home after 9pm and I was just grateful we had our Dobie with us. Just don't go into the estate at night, keep to the quay side and all good.
Clean and comfortable home. The hosts left us with milk and coffees. This was home from home. Comfortable beds, excellent walk in shower. Very near to Harbour.

Need some more teaspoons, if you’re using the spare room switch boiler off as it was noisy and the spare bed maybe too soft

Very spacious over three levels, very modern decor and every mod con you could want! Nice extras like a selection of spreads/jams in the fridge and spices/teas in the cupboard. Lovely soft duvets and tvs in every room. Extremely good value considering the fantastic condition and proximity to Gun Wharf shopping centre and the historic dockyard. I think the pictures don't do the property justice! Lyn easily contactable and very helpful! Highly recommend!

There were a couple of minor issues which didn't spoil our stay: we needed to contact the owner as the TV didn't have any sound but this was easily rectified. Also the place wasn't very warm as none of the wall radiators worked and we didn't realise we had to switch on the underfloor heating in the bathroom and kitchen. 2 portable radiators were available and the fire in the lounge helped. Luckily the weather was mild so we were OK.
Very pleased to find that the photos match reality. This maisonette is perfectly placed for visiting the Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays where we had lunch. Communication with the owner was excellent. From the timely sending of details about how to access to the property to answering our queries during our stay. The beds are really comfortable and having the king in one of the bedrooms meant that 2 of us could share without disturbing the other. The lounge had everything we needed and the extensive gadgets in the kitchen (coffee maker, boiling water tap, microwave and laundry facilities) were above what I would usually expect. We loved this property and hope to go again next year

I couldn't work out how to turn the television off. This could very much have been operator error so apologies for leaving it on.
The property was very well resourced with everything you would need. It was a great size and the kitchen and bathrooms had all the usual amenities.
